yes, there will be enough melt today. |
I just went for a walk through our neighborhood, where the elementary school is. The streets are ice, the paths on the elementary school grounds have not been shoveled or salted and the bus stops for the middle/high school kids are plowed in with huge mounds of snow. I don't see tomorrow happening. |
Thanks Nostradamus. |
Our entire McLean neighborhood (secondary roads) has not been plowed yet. This is not private or HOA streets. |
So, no staff shoveling side walks at the school? If that’s true, seems like end of story. They aren’t going to school if they aren’t shoveling school sidewalks. |
just came back from Chipotle Fair Lakes- Roads are not clean it all. they will be closed tomorrow and its very cold. |
Just got an email from our school about tomorrow, they are planning to be open. |
Directly from the school admin? Are you a staff member? |
well, principals have to prepare in case they are open. I think they will be also, but that is a principal's duty- to plan for the school to be open, even if it ends up closed. |
It said Wednesday will be an X day and Thursday will be a Y day, even if there's no school on Wednesday. So they are planning out the whole week and preparing for school tomorrow or the next day. |
check out the Chipotle IN FAIR LAKES, Roads near by are not clear. |
I don’t see how that predicts anything about tomorrow. |
I think they're hoping they can be in tomorrow so it doesn't screw up the odd/even schedule for middle and high schools. They'll probably realize by late afternoon that many roads and school sidewalks are still terrible. Sending middle schoolers to bus stops at 6:30 in the morning when there's black ice everywhere is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I'm not sure a two hour delay would be enough to get everything unfrozen in this cold either. |
What are you talking about? Fair Lakes is fine. Yes, there are some snow/ice spots and piles, but it is mostly clear. |
I would be willing to bet at least $1000 on a two hour delay tomorrow. |
