Depends how much Bethesda girls players value ECNL vs. playing for Bethesda. Theoretically, if another team in MoCo that already has an ECNL badge for boys picks up the ECNL badge for girls, how many coaches and teams would follow?

Risk then shifts to the conference. Potomac girls program is not that strong. How would it look giving a spot to them and NOT having Bethesda's girls come over? I guess they'd need to take that risk. Bottom line is, as soon as GA girls have the stronger conference, they'll have stronger recruiting to the individual clubs, and from the clubs to colleges. I'm sure college coaches are more interested in where the strongest players are rather than what the badges says.

Not all years are great for Bethesda ECNL girls. 2010, 2012… I don’t think they would sacrifice MLSN for ECNL.

You really don’t know how this works.

You clearly don’t. They don’t care about specific age groups. They look at clubs as a whole.

I don’t think there’s a whole lot of allegiance to playing for Bethesda due to how they’ve treated people. I don’t know many ECNL parents who actually like Bethesda, but rather tolerate it. I doubt there’d be an overnight exodus but also think the market is ripe for a true competitor.

Are we expecting Bethesda to leave MLSN or ECNLg?

From reading on multiple forums, it appears that ECNL is giving clubs with MLSN/ECNLg a hard time.

PDA (girls ECNL/boys MLSN) has recently lost 1/3 of their ECNL charters.

NVA - allegedly, ECNL would not allow them ECNLg and boys in MLSN.

Just listen to how these two coaches talk to their players. Which group of girls is actually playing a game out there and which group is terrfied to be on the ball for fear of not moving at that immediate moment the joystick was moved.

One team was playing kickball, the other played beautiful and out the back

Neither team was playing kickball. Two of the teams at 2011 in the area. Both trying to play the right way. But thanks for that useless tidbit

Heard the media room is going to be named the “GA Studio” or GAS for short. Nice ring to it!
