This is a thread about two ECNL clubs but here you are, SYC dad interjecting yourself into every conversation in a desperate attempt to feel relevant. |
BRAVE lost ECNL and McLean didn't. |
Why is everyone feeling the threat then? I see BRAVE was the underdog here and believe it or not it was improving. Aside the BRYC coaches who didn’t want to change their style of play, the younger teams could have improved significantly if staying longer. Has Union improved over the hundred years they’ve been in ECNL? No, they have been declining and their top players are graduating. Here the vision is to keep the top players from both clubs rather than handing them up as a present to other clubs like VDA. |

Not true. But keep trying. |
It’s not a dad. It’s a syc coach. They are disappointed that after calling every one of their former players in Union, that the only ones that are considering coming back are the ones that don’t make FVU. SYC is so mad they are not getting any attention right now. FVU ruined their party. But SYC will get some of the disappointed families. They will get even more disappointed when they realize no one at SYC has any college connections. |
If that's true, it was the fastest conclusion of legal action in the history of the legal system. Wasn't he just fired from GFR about a month ago? |
Union has 8 high D1 commits for the class of 25, including a YNT player…they aren’t graduating. Does BRAVE have any? BRAVE has a parent coach for their U19 boys team! It’s amateur hour over there. |
MYS — does that per team per year. There is a reason that moving to VU or merged clubs would be positive for those who are playing well. The college recruitment work surpasses all clubs in the area. Arlington — nope; Bethesda — publicizes their fewer college placement slightly better but numbers simply do not match McLean. |
No worries, MV will boost more D1 for McLean |
The boys at Union are the sacrificial lambs in all of this. Union has always overlooked the boys in favor of the girls- more resources, more staff, more college focus- the ED and TD don’t even try to hide it. It’s been that way forever And now MYS is paying the piper for their complete absenteeism in investing in the boys side as ECNL came calling. Bravo to ECNL negotiators who somehow convinced an inept McLean administration to bend over backwards to solve Brave’s probation problem. How Brave became MYS’s problem is anybody’s guess. Rather than call ECNLs bluff (would ECNL really pull the girls charter-no), they roll over and do something that will lead to their eventual talent demise. RIP MYS. Enjoy the rec EDP and extra field space you now have. Union parents should band together and start a petition to oust the ED or find the many lawyers among their parent group to review the MYS charter to see if this raw deal the ED struck is even legal . Mys is a nonprofit and benefits from non profit status….the rush job on this deal with zero advance comms surely means they made mistakes in paperwork filing etc. Admin should go down in flames for this. |
No one in their right mind is leaving for GA teams. Your kiddo would be better off at regional ECNL….anyone that knows the youth soccer landscape knows that. Soccer 101 for dummies |
RP is not suing a person but rather a non-profit organization. He continues to do what he does best…stealing money from soccer families for doing absolutely nothing. Imagine resigning because you couldn’t get the board to fire your boss and then suing for wrongful termination. RP needs to get a life. |
ECNL parents right now. ![]() |
I think you will find the opposite, that is something said by a lot of the GA, is that the leagues focus in on the middle (was said on their call at the weekend by the league president). Thats why the top end is racing to leave, it is the neglected part. |
