ECNL forcing Brave & Union Partnership

100% but it's even more than that.

ECNL is losing teams but trying to hide it by merging clubs.

It's also telling that ECNL has only gone after GA clubs this year. Very obvious that ECNL now considers GA a threat.

What clubs has ECNL lost to GA?

Why isn't anybody questioning ECNL's motives behind this? And especially the timing. This is a company that builds its platform to showcase kids that want to play at the next level and 1 week before ID sessions they dropped this. The kids that are in the crucial recruitment period are the ones that will suffer the most. This could have been handled in a way better manner.

Timing is perfect.

It is about time to cut down ECNL teams from 5 to 4.

Such a cult-Y response. Sure, maybe there were too many ECNL teams currently but there should've been more communication done long ago and that would have led to more time to prepare, especially for the families that have kids in or going into the recruiting period.

It seems a shame that Union needs to be disrupted because BRAVE was terrible and people responsible for BRAVE being terrible get rewarded for their failures

No focus on who is determining these conclusions. ECNL is who people should be asking questions to.

Parents won’t be asking ECNL these questions, but parents will take the best players to other clubs to avoid BRAVE coached teams.

Nice try, He was not the 08 coach in 2023

Yeah, McLean families have every right to be worried.

And you attribute that record all to the coaches and not the talent of the players they are working with?

The coach picked the talent and coached the talent.

+1. BRAVE tryouts aren't as crowded as some other clubs. This coach is not a draw for top players especially at older age groups. He is loyal to a few kids and has no interest or capability to select and develop a top team. That's why BRAVE rosters are so small. Bad fit for FVU if that's what happens. Coach of FVU should have interest in selecting the best kids and building the best teams.

MV loves a few players and ignores everyone else. The parents of those few players love him. All other parents not so much because they will get zero communication. His entire 09 team left the first BRAVE season. That’s why there’s no talent left there now.

Are you the parent of one of those players? Marriage convenience does not equal love. Kids are not following MV.

You guys do realize the entire top end of the GA is desperately trying to lobby to get into ECNL?

Four years in and not a single Ecnl club has gone ga. In the same time….

Legends FC
Beach
Utah Royals
Bay Area Surf
Sporting Blue Valley
Colorado Rush
Ukrainian Nationals
Nationals Blue
Nationals Gray
Lonestar Red
Lonestar Black

With Lonestar being the first, how many others will jump to RL? Outside of the remaining 2-3 top end clubs (Tophat, NEFC… although there’s fresh rumors there !) then RL may be more appealing than GA very soon
Anonymous
Your kid must play on a crappy ECNL team. lol

NEFC and Tophat will never get on btw. GA caters to them too much for them to leave
Anonymous
Lonestar was a disaster in the making.

The addition of Liverpool in CA and KCSG makes up for the loss of Ukies and Lonestar.

I’ll be suprised if sting doesn’t eat them up in the near future.

Fixed that for you. Also, that’s a big question as to how many SYC players stay or go.

Talking girls? Nobody in their right mind would leave an established (albeit, evolving) ECNL club to go play for a club that was just given a GA patch.

Real question is where is the fear the brave poster ?

Believe it or not, not every dork plays for an ECNL team just because it’s an ECNL team..

Your would be a fool to play on a crap team in ECNL than to play on a great GA team that can make a deep run in playoffs

Hope your daughter was able to find a team after your traumatic experience.

Coaches can only pick the talent that comes to their id sessions. It’s not like there is a single talent pool for all the clubs to draft from

If there was a single talent pool, some coaches would be better at drafting than others. Consider 2024 the year of the single talent pool. Who do you want as your coach?

He hasn't proven anything so I'd still not choose him. He wasn't a draw to BRAVE before and he isn't a draw now.

There is a single talent pool. Everyone who is moving. You will see the same kids at Loudoun, VDA, Arlington, and sometimes SYC, Revolution, FCV. Will you see them at FVU? Is that their top choice? Depends on the coach.

Not if BRAVE coaches are leading the teams. The BRAVE coaches will only act as player repellants

What an insipid comment.

Is it really? Is that why hardly anyone ever goes to BRAVE? Is that why most of their teams are in last or near last place because they attract quality players?

Of their 6 girls teams, Brave is averaging 8.8th place out of 13. That’s the 33rd percentile. Not where they want to be, I’m sure, but 3 of their 4 youngest age groups are decent to good, the oldest girls long ago lost their best players to ECNL clubs, and Vienna has had to source the majority of the players.

But definitely not averaging 13th (all teams in last), 12th, 11th, or 10th.

On the boys’ side they are averaging a 12.5 out of 16, or 22nd percentile.

Meanwhile Union’s boys are averaging a 10.7, or 33rd percentile, the same as Brave’s Girls.

The only piece above average here is Union girls, averaging a 5.3, or 59th percentile. But of course they have been doing it with SYC talent, and that pipeline was stopped regardless of whether they merged with Brave.

Tell me you're the biggest ECNL cheerleader in the world without saying it out loud.
