My son just transferred to the area and play lacrosses. I found this forum somehow, and it is pure comedy. Almost as passionate as SEC football....I hope the lacrosse lives up to the hype. Ready to get it started!

EHS 2023

Lost all of the starting defense and FOGO to graduation. All six of those players are playing in college.

Starters will all be competitive, but the team lacks a lot of depth other than midfield.

Three new players will have impact at goalie, middle, and d-pole. Several good players who missed all or most of last year due to injury will be back.

FOGO - still a question mark.

Episcopal had a lot of injuries last year. If the starters stay healthy, the High School could have a good year, possibly winning the VISAA and surprising a couple of teams teams in IAC.

Are the Landon twins playing middie and attack?

The Petro kid is hurt and had season ending surgery and you are criticizing him? Get some help.

No more twins at EHS. Two Riddle twins graduated and are playing at UNC.

Fully agree... Pretty sure he is a 20-year-old freshman already. The kid was full grown as a sophomore in HS and peaked.

I am not an SJC person but was there and both teams looked pretty good to me. Not sure who was still on the field but there was one point where SJC scored 5 or so straight goals. SJC is not filled with physical specimens but they play very well together and are very smart. Give them a few more weeks of practice and they will roll against a many teams.

Even until half. St. John’s pulled starters after that.

St. John’s put it on St. Albans. If they are supposed to compete in the IAC than the IAC isn’t good.

STA was missing a bunch of starters including offensive players as well. They definitely got outplayed but there were a bunch of kids who had never played in a varsity game before playing significant minutes. Even if it’s a scrimmage, St. John’s is a quality opponent and a tough first time draw. The best play of the day though was the STA LSM pump fake and blast past the St. Anne’s goalie. He never saw the ball.

So the defense was hurt and the offense was missing? Where were they?

Why so many questions? It’s really not hard: There were like 4 or 5 players who were out. Hockey and injuries. A couple of them are some of the best players. I think one is preseason all area. STA doesn’t have the depth to play their best with those kinds of kids out. Still. It was a scrimmage and it’s only February. Will see how it goes through the season.

Ryken?

4 - 3 after 1
7-4 at half

Must have been missing the entire team.

STA killed Ryken and played no one. The Penn commits didn’t play, nor the Bowdoin kids, or the Cornell commit, etc. After beating those guys by a ton last year, they threw frosh and sophs at them this year.

Against St.John’s and St. Mary’s they were missing the kid going to Cornell, another defensive starter, one of the best 25 attacks and another attack who is also all Met in soccer and hockey. The other defensive starter is likely to play football in college. While those guys are not STJohns level lax guys, except for the kid going to Cornell, all 4 are future college athletes and starters or key subs. None played. When STA is down 4 college level athletes, it makes a difference. They wouldn’t have beaten St. John’s with them but they were close to St. Mary’s without them. Assuming St. Mary’s was at full strength, which they may not have been, I think full strength STA does ok.

7-4 at half is not killing anyone.

It is when every playing is a freshman or soph.

FWIW: A poster on BOTC's 2026 boys thread reported that approx. 8 freshmen earned spots on SJC's varsity roster.

To SJC partisans: Is that report accurate?

Seems high (unprecedented?), but solid accomplishment for those boys. Even if they don't play much beyond mop-up time, practicing every day with the older players will benefit them, long-term.

I would also bet money they play JV as well. Most large rosters, Gonzaga, SJC, GTPrep, PVI ect allow kids to play both JV and V as Freshman. However, SJC has had impact freshman in the past.

SJC - 7/8 Freshman
Bullis - 4 Freshman
PVI - 5/6 Freshman
Prep - 4 Freshman
GZ - ??
EHS - 2 Freshman

Not a bad class or lots of departures in the upper class for example replacing 22 seniors for SJC.

There are no freshman that will be impact players. The fact that so many are being put on SJC varsity is more a reflection that this team lacks depth and will likely struggle this season.
