Peloton Strength classes

I just started using the Peleton strength classes. I would say I am intermediate level. I took a lot of muscle sculpt and barre classes when I belonged to a gym pre-COVID. (I also used to use the Peleton bike when I belonged to a gym, and I do the yoga classes now at home.) If you use the strength classes, who are your favorite instructors? Which class types do you find most useful? I have found that there is more down time than I would like in the classes. Maybe that means I am not using heavy enough weights, But my dumbbells go up in 5 pound increments so sometimes I can’t go as heavy as I would like without jumping to a level that is too heavy. Any recommendations for best classes/instructors are appreciated!

Lots of people follow the Hard Core on the Floor calendar - a trainer has chosen workouts that complement each other. That’s how I pick. It’s on Facebook or Instagram (hcotf).

I second the hardcore on the floor calendar. It’s really well put together and will give you a taste of different instructors.

Tunde is great for arms. It’s light weights, but my arms are dying halfway through.

Jess Simms! Her Flash 15 classes are great if you want less downtime/more efficiency.

I second Jess. All her classes have little downtime. Rad started off slow but has been improving.

I stopped doing the peloton classes because of the downtime and too much talking, but my favorite for strength training was Jess Sims.

I like Robin, Olivia and Jess. Some seem to have downtime and some have almost none. I haven’t figured out why yet.

Where do I find the calendars on that hardcore on the floor fb group? I looked under files and don’t see one calendar? Just lots of different things uploaded by users.

Also recommend Hardcore on the Floor. (IG is hcotf18). Since most days have a 10 min core + 10 min. Strength + 20 min. strength, I think you get less downtime than in the longer classes. The shorter classes tend to be less chatty and more efficient, which it sounds like you’re looking for. There are also some barre and yoga classes mixed in. I’m a big fan!

+1 for Robin and Olivia. I find that for strength classes I really prefer women instructors (I am a woman). I think male instructors go too easy in core classes and too hard for upper body for my taste.

My faves are Jess Sims, Adrian, Daniel, Rad, and Callie

I follow HCOTF too. It's great if you don't want to think about putting together you own stack of classes. Sometimes I sub out if I'm not a fan of the instructor. My absolute favorite is Adrian Williams. He doesn't waste time and gets right to it. Robin is pretty efficient too as is Jess. Chris Tucker is great too. If you want efficiency avoid Andy Speers. He def wastes time and I don't think I get as good of a workout in w/him. Olivia and Emma are my go to instructors for core. Matty too.

Another Hardcore follower here and I can’t recommend it enough.

My favorites for strength are Selena Samuela (anything lower body; she’s a beast), Jess Sims (great full body workouts) and Olivia for core. I tend to like the male instructors for upper body along with Tunde’s arms and light weights workouts.

But just follow the hardcore calendar and you’ll get introduced to a variety of instructors and classes.
