Lining was thin at lining check appointment. 6.8. I was told to instead of take 3 estrace pills daily, to take 2 vaginally. I repeated this since I was surprised to go from 3 pills to 2. I was told to do a repeat lining check and delay the transfer by a few days.
The doctor was supposed to call today. He did not. I called the nurses multiple times and no one called me back. I finally sent an email via their email application asking them to confirm the revised plan (medicine, new transfer date, etc). I am traveling for the transfer and need to book a hotel room. I received a response back that NO - I am supposed to be taking 3 pills orally PLUS 2 vaginally. This means from Saturday night through Monday at 4 pm, I was taking 2 estrace pills a day instead of 5. My question is how concerned I should be about this? Should I try to have the lining check and transfer delayed again? Or can a transfer only be delayed for so long? Is there anything that would be helpful to know? I am also annoyed with SG because their has been a problem with faxing over orders and I am spending hours to have an order faxed and received. Dealing with SG is turning out to be the worst part of it and isn’t helping me. I’m starting to really struggle with this and questioning what I am even doing! |
| SG is awful. If you have to travel anyways, switch to CCRM in CO if you need another cycle. I had a few really long cycles and there was no issue with it so I wish you luck. If it’s unsuccessful I’d push them monetarily |
I stuck with them because they got me pregnant before and I was nervous to transfer my embryos. Now this cycle has caused me so much stress that I’m regretting my decision. I had to make 10+ phone calls and send multiple emails to have my time sensitive order faxed. My husband even had to call. I was trying to do all of this AND work my FT job. It’s like they make the process as frustrating as possible. On top of this, they are unwilling to let me know what sort of benefits one of our potential insurance plans provides. All they will tell me is that they are “in network.” They said this is per their policy. Is this standard? I’d like to be able to call potential clinics, provide them with the plan name/employer and see if it’s a good plan for us to sign up for. I realize plans change and there is no guarantee, but it just seems extreme to completely be unwilling to share anything about it it besides that it is in-network. |

It's terrible that this happened. Are you doing your monitoring appts elsewhere, if it sounds like you are traveling for transfer?
Personally I would cancel and strat over - I did this for another miscommunication and lining issue. I just felt I'd regret it if it the transfer failed. But it's a very personal decision. I would also recommend getting a new nurse. My first was terrible. Very casual about the whole thing. It was awkward to ask for a change but the Dr didn't seem surprised and the next one was much better and proactive. Good luck OP! |
Yes, I am doing outside monitoring. I’m planning to travel to DC for the transfer. I’d ideally like my decision to be on if this dosage mistake could affect the outcome. I am not sure if assuming I start taking the correct dosage tonight, I can catch up? How would canceling help...wouldn’t I just go back to day 1 of the mandatory birth control pill and restarting the estrace? Also don’t think I get any money back if I voluntarily quit. They will likely say that I misunderstood the dosage (I did not). Although I do have a voicemail saved that has a nurse giving the incorrect instructions. |
| Forgot to say thanks and good suggestion on the new nurse! |
I also had a lining in the high 6es on my first lining check, and was told to switch from oral to vaginal (3 a day down to 2 per day). At my next check, my lining was fine and I moved on to transfer. Obviously everyone is different but it may not have messed up your cycle. |
| Update: My lining is now 8.6. This is above the minimum requirement but still not great, right? |
I’ve gotten pregnant twice with a lining around that level. |
I had historically thin lining. Was successful at under 8 for both of my successful pregnancies. I was at SGF. They won’t let you transfer if they really think it’s too thin (had several cancelled cycles when I couldn’t get to 7) |
Your insurance company would know if they are in network. Would not trust the clinic on that at all. Sending some sympathy vibes your way. I too hate my clinic and have tons of problems with them. |
| That part of the cycle can be stretched out as long as you don't ovulate. |
