ECNL-R is on par with MLSNext. ECNL is better than both. NCSL D1-3 are next top EDP is a distant 7th CCL can't hold EDP Premier 6's jock strap |

These people know nothing ^ Yes, ECNL-RL is good, but not the best. It’s far better than CCL Prem now. But before it was rebranded as ECNL-RL, when it was called NPL, they were pretty even. But now Arlington and Loudoun’s second teams joined them. Of course ECNL is still better than ECNL-RL. EDP divisions 1 and 2 are solid. But let’s be honest that Division 3 and lower are not good. I would say that the youth soccer pyramid is: MLS Next/ECNL ECNL-RL/EDP D1 and D2 CCL 1 /EDP D3 and D4 NCSL 1 and 2/CCL 2/ NCSL 3 - 5 |

LEt's be honest, if DC isn't playing on an ECNL/ECNL-R team, why even bother. Just do rec, stay as close to home and call it a day. No one is recruiting or signing DC from any of the other leagues, period. |

The first PP was obviously joking. But no way is ECNL-RL comparable to EDP 1 and 2. It is last year's CCL/NPL and is far below the level of EDP D1 and D2. |

A lot of people don't think CCL will survive much longer. My kids were in CCL 1 last year at different age groups and, while the top teams were very strong, and the middle teams were all solid, the weak teams were MUCH weaker--comparable to NCSL 3 or 4. All of those strong teams have left CCL, except Alexandria U9-U12. All of them. I no longer have kids in CCL but I assume after these changes, the now top teams of my kids' former divisions at around the level of NCSL 1 and 2. There is no other league I have seen that has such disparity within divisions as CCL.
Obviously, there are exceptional teams that may be stronger than others in the category above (for example, many of Arlington's ECNL teams would be good MLS Next teams), but for boys, I think it goes like this: MLS Next ECNL EDP D1 and D2 ECNL-RL/EDP D3/NCSL 1 EDP 4 and NCSL 2 CCL 1 CCL 2/NCSL 3 - 5 |

CCL 1 is better than edp 4 maybe even 3 I respect everyone's opinion but ccl is not terrible like everyone says they are the upper half of ccl2 isn't bad so maybe ncsl 2 and edp 4 tier |

Yes, EDP 4 is pretty much rec. You might get one or two decent teams. I'm thinking CCL1 = EDP 3 on average. But in general, it depends on the age, so this is almost impossible to do. And I'm not so sure MLS Next > ECNL at least in the DMV. |

Arlington and VDA have some teams that would be fine in MLS Next, but the other ECNL clubs would get mowed down. |
