Barrel-leg jeans

Anonymous
I have seen these at a few retailers and they are starting to look kind of cute to me. Like these: https://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=756018012&pcid=999&vid=1&&searchText=barrel#pdp-page-content.

Can i wear these as a 36 yo size 8 mom? How would you style? I'm definitely not going to wear a crop top, I had my second baby 9 months ago

Yes you can wear them! I would style just like the pics. Only think I wouldn't wear with them is something long and baggy.
Anonymous
Only if you can peg them at the bottom.
Anonymous
Of course you can! I don't think BR has completely nailed the cut, but they're very flattering and nice change of pace.

I think it's more about a clean diagonal line extending from the back side in profile, and fabric draping around the leg in front. Not an extremely pegged ankle.

Can you recommend any that you like?

Uuuugh, no! (And I am referring to the jeans here, not you, OP).

I’m not wild about the cut, but I love a wide-leg or a flare jean

I'm starting to like the barrel cut too. I think the shirt tucked in look is good - I'd have the most trouble with shoes, I think.

Also, I did buy these flare jeans from BR and I LOVE them!

I thought they were cute until I tried them on. Not cute.

DP - I really like those. They seem like they’d be really flattering. The flare leg is a good look on a lot of people. However I don’t know if I would wear them with high heeled boots like the models in the pictures - a little too dressy for my usual “taking kids to the park and then going to Trader Joe’s” lifestyle when I’m wearing jeans. What other kinds of casual shoes would look good?

I bought very similar flares from Old Navy and love!
I like the rolled leg on the barrel with loafers or sneakers.

They are not flattering at all.

I got the petite length which hits perfectly for me (I'm 5'6") with a top of the foot break and hangs to the bottom of my heel so I can wear flats or a 1 inch heel. I am wearing them with low wedge sandals, adidas sneakers, loafers, and planning on lug sole boots when it gets colder.

I used to love this style of jeans with heels, but my 40 year old feet can't handle them anymore, so the petite length works for me.

The best look from the Banana Republic site was the model with the rolled up hem. I like these jeans, but not sure how long they will be stylish past this season.
