Came across this on DM while eating lunch. As expected, Julia Roberts is still gorgeous at age 53. But, it struck me how bad her color looks with her skin color and makeup. Wouldn't she look better with a warmer hair color--perhaps a red or brunette color along the spectrum between Diane Lane and Julianne Moore, both of whom look amazing BTW. Thoughts? |
| Gorgeous? No. She looks like a wealthy aged white woman who needs a new colorist. |
| I normally think she is gorgeous. But, here her hair just looks awful. Completely fried and awful color. |
No. she was never gorgeous to begin with. She looks the same, which is hardly surprising given her wealth. Also surprising is her poor choice of hair color. |
| So funny. Who is doing a photo shoot in Paris? You? No, the non-gorgeous Julia Roberts, that’s who. I wonder what hair color would go with your deep green skin tone? |
| You guys are weird. She looks great. |
| Of course she’s gorgeous. Easy to be brave on an anonymous forum, isn’t it? Lol |
| She looks great. Hair color could be better. |
| She is styled for film (video) so of course she's going to look awful in a pap shot. And they'll correct everything in post. |
I’m sure no one would have a problem expressing that she’s ugly in real life too. Many people think she’s unattractive.

Her hair looks gorgeous in those photos, but it's obviously been done by a skilled professional. I do think the blonde highlights probably look harsher IRL. But eh, she's Julia Roberts, who cares?
Not fair to suggest Julianne Moore as a hair suggestion though. Moore's coloring is nearly impossible to find, especially on someone over the age of 40. She is the rare redhead who appears to have completely avoided sun damage. She and Cate Blanchett are the poster children for never, ever, letting the sun see their faces. It's amazing. But most fair hair/skinned folks (myself included) wind up with at least some sun damage, including broken capillaries and some redness. I'm a natural redhead but have hit a point where trying to hold onto my natural auburn is no longer flattering for my skin tone and I need blonde highlights (or to embrace the gray, I guess). That rich red Julianne wears is beautiful but it would not look flattering on me anymore -- it would look fake and too red. |
If you think she’s ugly, I don’t even know what to say to you. Delusional. |
| I think she looks amazing. |
| Most importantly, JR still looks like herself and for Hollywood, that's an accomplishment. |
| I have hated blonde on Julia Roberts for a good chunk of my life at this point and I don’t think I will ever stop hating that color on her. |
