Can being much taller than avg ever be a disadvantage for men?

In your opinion, and why?

Just on an airplane.

Excludes certain cars.

I know guys who are 6'4-6'8. It's amazing how much they are hit on.

There start to be diminishing returns after 6’6” or so.

I have a 6’3” son who is still growing and I don’t know what life will be like as a full on adult but there are disadvantages now. He has stretch marks like look like he was whipped across his back, he hunches because it’s a little awkward being a really tall boy, he can’t find pants that fit (tall sizes don’t come in small sized waists) and he can no longer buy shoes in stores, which means he can’t try them on first. All that said the advantages for sports means he wouldn’t trade his height, so he certainly doesn’t complain. Aside from the stretch marks - they are really ugly and alarming looking and he’s sad he’ll have them for life.

It’s hard to find clothes and you don’t fit in normal sized spaces - ducking under things, not fitting in airplane seats and cars, etc.

People assume you’re athletic.

In the workplace, people assume you know more than you do. Obviously this can be an advantage too, but tough when you’re just starting out.

My brother is 6'3" and a half. He's told me he wishes he was 6'1". Says that would give him all the same advantages without any of the disadvantages. He doesn't fit in some cars, needs business or emergency exit row in planes, bangs his head on low ceilings going into basements in some places, etc.

6 foot 4 and below should not have many issues . Seems you are exaggerating

I don't date tall people.

Agree, though I'd put it at 6"5. It starts to become kind of freakish much taller than that.

Back in the day, I knew a guy who was 6'11". Very proportionate body size to height. People often couldn't get past his height and didn't really get to know him as a person.

I'd agree with 6'5". And even at 6'4", they better not be too thin, and they better have good posture.

What height is too tall? Can I ask how tall you are? Just curious as I don't hear this often.
