Anyone Out There With Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

Anonymous
Does anyone have any advice for living with ME/CFS? I'm really struggling with fatigue and need some coping strategies that will allow me to spend less time in bed.

Move to the couch.

Yeah, sorry OP. I have it, and don't have any magic pills for you. I hope someone else can offer something better to help us both!

no silver bullet answer. I would research it and see if you can find forums for people who suffer CFS. Try to educate yourself. I would do everything you can to treat your body well. Eat healthily, see if massages help, explore a special PT that deals with vagus nerve release, Mild exercise to maintain strength and get endorphins going but not strenuous enough to tire yourself more, research supplements that might help with energy. . . I’m so sorry. I suffer from Fibromyalgia (which I know is different from CFS but extreme fatigue is one of my symptoms) and unfortunately there is no one magical solution. but a CFS group might allow you to read about what other people experience and how they cope.

Nutrition, stretching, exercise and not over scheduling.

The r/cfs forum on Reddit is fairly active and occasionally has good advice.

If you want to keep up with the latest medical research, the blog Health Rising has tons and tons of info. They also have forums, but I haven’t really explored those.

Sorry, OP. I’ve had disabling CFS for almost 20 years and wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

‘Early stage hashimoto’ is my thread. Check it out- may be some helpful info there.
B-complex helps in my case.
I take 3-4 huge coffees as well.
But I have some bad days - as if I woke after a bus ran over me at night.

Oh please. It’s not witch doctor stuff. My friend with fibromyalgia who dealt with extreme fatigue and pain controls her symptoms almost entirely by avoiding gluten, processed sugar, and processed dairy. They are known to cause inflammation of the respiratory or GI tract in lots of people.

"My friend with fibromyalgia..."

What a great way to start a post.

Now you're just trolling.

Yes.

Thanks everyone for the info. Unfortunately, I can't have caffeine -- I wish I could. I'll talk to my doctor about supplements.
