Smart Restart APS published a study which allegedly demonstrates that 60% of APS classrooms have woefully deficient air.
The 'T" in SMART is about transparency. 'integrity in data sharing.' The Smart restart study was based on APS records that were FOIA'd. APS spokesperson challenges the study stating that the it is being egregiously misinterpreted. Smart restart is asked to share their underlying data, how they came up with the study. The response is -" I suggest that you just put in a FOIA to APS for their data." eg= we won't share. WTF. Why on earth are you hiding the data SMART RESTART unless you know that your STUDY is FULL OF CRAP and DESIGNED TO SCARE PEOPLE. oh and PS- new CDC guidance that came out today? Literally not one word about air changes etc- it says improve ventilation by opening windows when possible. |
| Yeah. My money is on APS not having a clue on this. They were going to buy ionizers for god sake. |
|
Yeah, one of the newer schools that was designed to maximize air quality and rates of exchange, with tons of data and automatic feedback loops in place, is listed as one of the lowest in air quality, according to the SR people.
I have reservations about how they’ve interpreted the data, especially since the person heading up this initiative is in no way an expert. |
What does this even mean, they "published a study"? As in, they wrote something and put it online? I can publish a study on Medium saying whatever TF I want and then I've "published a study." These people are out of their minds. Not a one of them knew anything about any of this 6 months ago. Now they are using what they've learned on Twitter to become self-appointed experts. I am so done with Arlington. |
| Promise you that’s twice as much thought as Pope and Chadwick have given this. |
|
So much butthurt.
Sit down, OP, while the rest of us work to make schools safer for our kids to return ASAP. |
| I’m ok with a layperson publicizing data they’ve FOIA’d. I have no interest in hearing a layperson’s interpretation of that data, however. |
yeah- pretty much. Anyone who 'publishes a study' and refuses to share the underlying data loses all credibility with me. Especially when that same person claims that all they want is 1) transparency and 2) are self-proclaimed non-credentialed experts. |
layperson refuses to publicize the data- they will only publicize their interpretation of the data. |
Exactly. Layperson wants to control the narrative. |
| Yeah why is Discovery so poorly ranked? It’s a brand new green school. |
Misinterpreted data. |
Because the requirements for standard HVAC aren't the same as recommendations for a pandemic. Same with fleet and HBW. Pre-covid requirements are met when they were built. |
“We only count Merv 13 filtered air as clean air,” for one thing. |
Agreed. This woman is making a fool of herself. And that's putting it nicely. This is such a d*ck move to refuse to share the FOIA-d information. It's really incredible. |
