Cavs merged with VLC

Doesn’t the 2025 team basically have a “practice team” and a “playing team”. I heard there are 30+ kids on the roster.

The 28 VLC team is close to that number as well (maybe they send some down to Cavs to play on what is essentially a 'B' team).

Does VLC have any holdbacks? And what is the "high school open player evals" it is advertising?

Interesting that Cavs is posting Open Player Evals (https://www.instagram.com/p/CavVilPrVGE/) over the next few months under the VLC umbrella to try and field real teams at the high school level.

What is the youngest age group for VLC teams? When do they traditionally start?

This past summer VLC (prior to merge with Cavs) started teams for current 5th and 6th graders (28s and 29s). Prior to that I believe their youngest team was 7th graders.

I would say VLC doesn’t usually promote reclassing kids if that’s what you’re asking. I think you’ll find at least a couple of kids on each VLC team who have either late birthdays or started kindergarten later, but you won’t find blatant reclassing of entire teams like what’s becoming a standard in NY, MD and for all of the “National” club teams. Bigger, faster and stronger kids are always great to have on a team, but it doesn’t seem like VLC is a “win at all costs” club.

HS open player evals probably means they’re trying to fill some gaps in their HS teams. Especially the teams that came over from Cavs. Another nice thing about VLC is that they’ll typically allow anyone to come and try out at any given time. I would reach out to Coach Z or Coach Dico for more info. Great guys.

Spoken like a truly insecure a-hole. Sorry you don't have more joy in your life. Why do you think that is? Does making fun of other people's situation help fill that void for you?

🤷‍♂️ The relative skill of Crabs, VLC and Cavs is well known to all, even though you are so fragile it makes you sad to hear them mentioned.

Crabs are a Baltimore team. They also have a FL team. Is Madlax Oregon or True Idaho considered second teams. VLC is a different club pool of players from Crabs.

Your over the top reaction makes you sound insecure too. Just saying.

We have been evaluating travel teams for our son and heard some insane stories about the Cavaliers program from multiple sources.

Is the coach that was sleeping with a bunch of the player’s moms a few years back still coaching? Since character is a big reason we are so invested in team sports, this is a major concern.

Ask your mom. She would know.

Good call mommy - instead of asking me to call you, can you just answer the question?
