| Is it me or is Tinsley Mortimer the weirdest name? |
DP. Do we know that she was ill for a long time though? I keep seeing that without any references to anything. My dad died from prostate cancer that he had for ten years so I get your point. But frequently when younger people (under 50) die from cancer they tend to have more aggressive cancers. |
Her maiden name is Mercer. She kept Topper’s last name even after they divorced because it’s way more prestigious. |
I cannot imagine any advantage to speculation about the course of the first wife's disease, but there are plenty of young parents who don't tell their kids they're dying until the last possible moment. If you don't know any, count your blessings, because it's heartbreaking. And I also don't see any merit in telling DCUM what you'd do if you were in that situation and how much better that would be (trying to shut down a particularly offensive form of speculation here, not that I think it will work) |
Or because it's what the majority of women do?? |
Standard Oil. |
You’re not a friend. I would never do this to my best friends children. I would never say anything about their father. How dare you. I lost my parent as a child and you are very wrong. You should be ashamed. You were and are no friend to this woman. |
That’s a bit much, PP. I do agree it’s inappropriate to be speaking on behalf of a friend who passed away. That poster seems to have moved on. |
She said she was Mimi's friend, not Robert's friend. LOL. You must be Robert's friend. |

The focus is the children. And what they have been exposed to and seen.
It’s dreadful and cringeworthy. And of course, what they will see on the internet about her. She has overshared a lot. And it stays. Everyone is terribly concerned. |
Tinsley is a weird name. Pretentious, which is the vibe I got from her mother when I used to watch RHONY. Timsley herself, however, seemed like a genuinely nice person. |

I agree that the DH is awful for doing this to his kids.
Tinsley should just go back to Topper or find someone else. Maybe Ramona’s ex husband! |
They never had kids and that is why many women keep their married name, and they were married for only 8 years. My guess is she kept it because it was her NYC Socialite stage name in the early 2000s. I find her interesting because she was this 'it girl' 20 years ago but since she was from a fairly normal family from Richmond she was more relatable than say, Aerin Lauder. |
Which part is awful? The fact that he is marrying someone with a public profile? Because handsome and affluent widowers with young kids often get married very quickly IME. |
