Can I take my dog inside as long as there is no food sold?

Funny, you would be at fault, dog owners are only responsible for unsolicited contact.

You are missing the basic premise here. This applies only to people with a disability.

It's helping her mental health.

Op again,

I wouldn't get a vest for my bichon. I doubt that anyone would believe that he is a service animal. I think that would be taking away from people with actual disabilities.

My god, the entitlement many people have. YOU may think your dog is just great. I don't care for the sudden need for a dog to defecate or urinate on the merchandise. I've seen it happen. It makes for a difficult situation for the store owner.

Not to mention is the dog's shot record up to date, are they de-wormed, are they currently having diarrhea, do they bite (but only sometimes). The list could go on.

AND, for what it's worth... I am a dog owner who loves her dog but won't take it to a store because i have no need to.

You don't have a dog. Stop lying.

I don't know why you would think that. I love dogs but they have no place in most businesses. Dogs can't just pee and poo on command, they relieve themselves when they feel the need. which could be in any store. So my original post stands. Your comment is stupid and obnoxious. What are you? 12?

There are also many workplaces that are dog friendly. Colleges and universities are the most common places where dogs are welcome in some departments. And of course, Google's new DC digs are, too.

Service animals can be allowed in restaurants.

I have seen dogs in Best Buy, OP, as well as in Home Depot, Lowes, and several Barnes and Noble bookstores. Dogs are also allowed in DC cabs unless the driver has documentation that shows they are allergic to dogs. The TC confirms this. Many outdoor festivals also welcome dogs, and I have seen them at several outdoor farmer's markets.

People who have dog allergies should be careful and not assume a place is unfriendly to dogs.

Right, but is she disabled and does it help with that impairment. Meditation is good for my mental health, but I a not disabled.

That's right. The burden should be on people. How dare they assume they can go into businesses or workplaces and just have a right to be there and not have an allergic attack? They should have to check every single time they leave the house so that dogs can have the run of the world, of course.

Hmm, I will agree with u that people are self entitled and dogs should probably stay outside of normal businesses.

However, your reasons made me chuckle.

Note to all humans: don't go into stores if u have diarreah, the flu, are not fully vaccinated, don't take your kids with leaky diapers, if u have BO from recent workout or not showering, smell of smoke, didn't wash your hands after going to bathroom, etc. If u r mean and aggressive u should stay home too. Maybe that is why many parts of Europe allow dogs, they really are no more dangerous and dirty than the average person...

Alas, it's easier to leave Fluffy at home. C'est la vie!

Oh, dial back the drama. No one said dogs should have the run of the world. The simple truth is if you have an allergy, don't make assumptions about where you go and do your research to make sure you take care of yourself. Same thing if one is has a compromised immune system, one has to be responsible to minimize their risk themselves. Pretty simple, really.
