Amazing Race Season 35!

We are very excited in this house too. My H and I used to watch this show regularly in the 2000's and then stopped. Last year our son got into Season 34 and we ended up catching up on all of the seasons we missed as a family. I used to tell my H that a perfect team would be him and his younger brother...now I tell him once our son is old enough they should do it. Our kid is obsessed with geography and flags while my H can drive stick.

I'm also excited for DWTS with Alphonso and Julianne. Tyra really stretched my patience these past few years.

agree that Tyra was awful -- she made herself the center of attention.

Re: TAR -- WHY do people go on this show without LEARNING TO SWIM???? Also, for those who didn't learn to drive a stick... where have you been? You should know that all cars in Europe on TAR are STICK SHIFT! And if you aren't ok with jumping off a bridge, this isn't the show for you!

That’s always annoyed me, when teams don’t bother to gain the race competences like driving manual, reading a paper map, etc. Surviving without a smart phone becomes a bigger issue each season

DH and I have made a pact that if we go on TAR - I'm driving (since I'm the only one who knows how to drive stick), and he's doing all of the "jumping from high places". No thank you!

I would also be the driver as I get carsick as a passenger. But aren’t they required to take turns?

Mirna yelling “Charlaaaa” is still etched in my brain.

Charla was pretty awesome. Her cousin was a bit much.

I miss the originial old timey Amazing Races where they had to budget their money, take a 30 hour t3rd class train ride across Vietnam, figure out how to get to another country without spoonfed flights. Hoping this season is back to more chances for creativity

That hilarious mer-fairy lady last season whose whole job was a motivational speaker and she cried and almost gave up like every episode. LOL

I watch it with my teen son. Before his time, my fav was Zach and flo. What a whiner.

I don't think so. I remember many contestants never driving.

I’ve been watching old seasons of TAR and had forgotten how whiny Rachel (of Rachel and Brendon) was. Classic lines where she cry-whined as Brendon looked on in consternation:

“The Amazing Race is supposed to be fun and good.” (Wah wah wah)

“I just wanted to race around the world with my best friend.” (Wah wah wah)

DP. Yes!! And if they didn't have enough money for food, they didn't eat. Also, weren't the challenges much harder a long time ago? I remember one in Transylvania where the contestant actually had to drink pig's blood!!! I thought for sure she wouldn't do it, but she did, and then she got really sick afterwards.

One of my favorite teams - not because they were especially nice, but because they were so capable - was Rob and Amber. I can't remember much about them, just that I was impressed at how they played to win.

I really need to go back and watch some of the old ones. I've forgotten about some of the most entertaining teams!

They've pretty much gotten rid of all eating challenges now - to be more considerate of people's diets and restrictions? So people don't throw up?
