Trendy running sneakers for high school girl

Anonymous
DD made the track team and said that "everyone" on the team has the same sneakers, but I can't recall the brand - it wasn't Nike, Addidas, etc. I'm hoping someone can name them and that I will recall that is the one she mentioned. I can ask her but I would like to try to surprise her with a holiday gift that she isn't expecting. TIA.

Probably On-Cloud or Hoka.

You need to take her to a running store (Pacers or Potomac River Running) and get her fitted for the right shoes for her feet. Do not just buy what is popular, she can hurt herself.

+1. I love mizuno. You do need to get her fit though. Many people overpronate or underpronate. The wrong shoes and sometimes not having orthotics can lead to lots of injuries if you are running moderate to high mileage. She can go with what’s cool with spikes since you only race in them and they all offer zero support anyway.

OP she needs to be fitted at a running store, don’t buy what everyone else has.

Agree - though I am guessing everyone else has on cloud if I had to guess.

Hoka

I would ask the track coach.

Probably the Hoka Clifton, likely in mostly white. The good news is they are good running shoes. The bad news is that they are pricier than others.

I can’t believe teenagers wear hokas…I am a middle aged mom and have worn hokas for years

Yes, teenagers who run wear running shoes.

Brooks or Hokas

On clouds are HORRIBLE for really running

They are airport dad shoes

Hoka is good but they’ve actually fallen behind compared to 5-10 years ago

OP’s kid should watch “Beleive in the Run” - a running YouTube Channel from Baltimore - the co owner is a woman named Meghan and she’s great.

Right now imo the best running shoe rotation is from adidas

Adios Pro 3 for long distance, takumi sen 9 for short speed work, and Boston 12 for daily training/recovery

Brooks is the best selling running brand but mostly for middle aged and senior citizen eeekend warriors

Kids and young adults don’t run in brooks

The lineup kind of sucks also - besides Hyperion max and Hyperion elite
