Yuck - Co-worker Washed Breast Pump in Office Kitchen Sink

Anonymous
My former coworker was gently fired i.e. she had 2 weeks to leave, so she had time to clean out her desk. Well, she left all her pumping stuff in a desk drawer and I had to clean it out! I was pretty calm about it but the non-mothers in my office were totally grossed out. It was actually pretty funny.

You do realize that cow's milk is a "bodily fluid" as well, right?

I am NOT grossed out my BM at all - to me is like water. However, I just wanted to point it out that there is a difference between dealing with bodily fluid from an animal and from a human. I just cut some bloody raw pork meat and had no issues, but I would have problem dealing with human blood besides mine or my dd's. And more to the point, most of cow milk is pasteurized in this country.

I am a breast feeding mother. As a breast feeding mother I do not rinse my 'bodily fluid apparatus' in the KITCHEN. It is MY choice to breast feed and I should not infringe MY choice onto my coworkers to automatically be empathetic to the fact that I just had a baby. It would be like someone pissing in the sink and them saying, well deal with it.. I just had a baby. It's a warm, sweaty, bodily fluid being rinsed out in a sink where ALL coworkers have to use. Does anyone use lysol in the sink after rinsing their pump, or breast milk bottles?
Have consideration for others. OP is not incorrect in having an Opinion, Nor for saying a dirty sweaty breast. Does every busy mother with an infant shower every single morning? If you do than that is wonderful.
Empathy please.

The fact that you resurrected a thread from a year ago to post this nonsense tells me you are either A) the OP trying to stir the pot or B) a troll trying to stir the pot.

Octotroll? Wait, who is the Octotroll? How did I miss a new DCUM whackjob over the Thanksgiving break? Links, please.

Thanks for that link!

I started an AMA thread a while back (former nun here, AMA) and someone asked me if I was Octotroll. I had no idea what they were talking about because I had never read that thread. Now I finally understand the reference, although I still have no idea why someone suspected my completely honest AMA thread of being the work of a troll.

That took me aback for a moment, until the context of this thread oriented me to Breast Milk as opposed to -- never mind.
