Just out of curiosity, did your husband have any issues with his vasectomy afterwards? Like pain in that area or infections of the prostate, etc? Anything that would make you think anything was up with the vasectomy?

Congrats! Beautiful story, she really was meant to be!

I am truely touched with this story. I had my first set of twins in aug 1999. The doctor said because of complications and a ruptured appendix I should get my tubes tied so my husband and I decided to do that. Eight months later I got pregnant again and had twin girls in Jan. of 2001. After that my husband said he was getting a vasectomy and they were going to repair my tubaligation. Nearly thirteen years later now and we are now 3 months along with our third set of twins due in June. I am scared and don't know if any type of birth control will work. Any advise would be so welcome.

Wow! Congratulations, despite the shock and the THIRD set of twins! My husband and I are also planning to both get fixed after our third child is born in a few weeks but I always have in the back of my mind that there's the smallest, most remote possibility we will conceive even after the double surgeries. Aside from a hysterectomy, there's no way to be sure it won't happen again. Hopefully you can rely on your older sets of twins to pitch in with the babies. Best of luck!

Holy cow!!! Congrats to both the OP and twin mom x 3!!!
I am now scared shitless but very happy for you guys
I would love a surprise baby but I think my husband would go out for milk and never come back. He got snipped about a year ago and I kept my IUD after first reading this thread even though my plan was to get it out at my annual checkup.
Enjoy your beautiful blessings!

OP here, wow, three sets of twins!! That's amazing. I sympathize with wondering if any birth control will work. I did have my tubes tied during my c section. So I hope..?

We are going in at 4 this afternoon for an ultrasound and hopefully everything will check out and we'll get an EDD. I've been on the phone ever since; our mothers are beside themselves. My MIL found out two other women in our family are also 6 weeks pregnant! My hands shook for about 30 minutes. What a shock!

I didn't know which way it would go, but I'm really just thrilled. What an unexpected surprise. I just have to assume that it was meant to be. I think we'll pick up a couple lottery tickets after our appointment today, though- just in case.

I'm thrilled that you're thrilled! Congrats!

How old are you??? I'm in same predicament not asking, but being 42 I feel it may be peri menopause.?

oh wow, i seriously believed it was practically failproof to get him 'fixed' so DH got snipped 1 month prior to the birth of our 2nd child... 5 years later and now i feel like you did in the beginning. thanks for the heart in throat updates.

Omg, I'm 39 years old and have three children. My hubbie had the v done in Oct 2009. I am now on day 42 of my normal 22-28 day cycle. I have never ever been late, except for my pregnancies. I had bloods taken today as I'm not convinced I'm pregnant, just early menopause. Now, after reading this, I'm not so sure!! I don't know how I'd feel if I were preg. I am sooo tired as it is. My husband has said if I am it was obviously meant to be. He's a great husband. How are you doing now OP? How is your baby girl?

for those that got pregnant after vasectomy -- did you have a standard vasectomy or was it cauterized as well?
