Politics aside, do you even LIKE Chic Fil A?

Anonymous
I like the fact that they have Diet Dr. Pepper.

Don't like the fact that they give money to the Family Resource Council, which funds anti-gay lobbies to Congress.

I don't really ever go to Chik fil a since there isn't one near me.

I do love it when I go to the South though. They have great play areas, and the food isn't terrible.

Wouldn't know. Never been to one. I have actually only seen one ever. Must be based in the South.

There are over 100 in VA and MD alone.

One every 551 square miles.

There are only 14 Chik-Fil-A "restaurants" in the six states (and D.C.) where gay marriage is legal.

^^^hmm...it looks like my info was wrong. Saw a Utah paper this morning that quoted the stat above. The Chik-Fil-A website indicated otherwise.

I like their milkshakes, but don't care much for their regular food. It's the only fast food my kids have had, we probably go there once every 2 months. I like the kids choices, the nice kid prize in the kids meal, and I love the play area on a nasty day.

I don't care for the owner's politics, but I'm not going stop going there unless I'm prepared to research the owner of every single store that I ever spend my money at.

I thought most people hate the owner of Whole Foods, who is a big tea party guy. What happened there? It seems that their main customer is the Birkinstock type...

The owner of Whole Foods is a Tea Party guy? That's news to me. I remember a flap over the Whole Foods CEO opining about health care followed by a demand from the left to boycott Whole Foods and a response from the Tea Party to "buycott" Whole Foods.

Politics aside, I like Chick-Fil-A's Southwestern Grilled Chicken Salad. And their chicken soup.

Anonymous wrote:Yes, I do. But I grew up in the south where it's very popular, and worked there in college. It was a great company to work for. They awarded scholarships to their employees, and of course, we always had Sunday off. Owners were very accommodating to school and personal schedules. I made great friends working there. I can attest to how clean those restaurants are because I had to clean them daily for 3 years. They have MANY more healthy options that most fast food restaurants- several salads, wraps, grilled sandwiches, grilled nuggets, fresh fruit cups. The lemonade is, yes, delicious, and hand made in every single store. I love their diet lemonade still. It is really a "higher end" fast food restaurant.

I don't care to boycott the restaurant. I don't have a problem with gay people getting married, but I just don't care enough what this company thinks about any issue to boycott them over it- nor did I care enough to purposely go today for "Chick-fil-A support day" and stand in line for 30 minutes to buy a sandwich. I will eat there when I feel like it, which is every now and then.

Yup

I've never been there, and don't know where one is without looking it up. I donated the cost of a meal there to The Trevor Project the other day, since NOT eating there doesn't really do anything since I always don't eat there.

I grew up in the south. It's just typical fast food. Not particularly tasty or interesting. There aren't very many in DC, so this isn't really an issue here.

And I will continue to patronize them even more now because I support the owner's right to his opinion, and disagree with any politician or other person who thinks it is acceptable to bully businesses or others on account of not being liberal enough. Period!

+1. And I even lean liberal.

+2 I support the owner's right to his opinion. And I LOVE chick fil a. It's the only fast food I'll eat.

He's not the Owner, he's not the CEO. His dad is the CEO. People are boycotting because of funding a certified hate group, and anti gay groups. This isn't just someones opinion.

Sad that more people on this forum care more about whether the chickens they are stuffing in their gullets are raised humanely or not. Of course, people are entitled to their opinions. But clearly, those idiots standing outside on Wednesday didn't just come from an ACLU meeting. They aren't free speech advocates. They are anti-gay marriage. It's about equality and justice. Sad, that so many are frankly, so stupid. I didn't eat there before and I'm certainly not now. They give money to pretty extreme groups. And they give out the Washington Times.
