Politics aside, do you even LIKE Chic Fil A?

And are they actually convenient for you?! I think there's one in Union Station these days, right? And then there's the food truck. I run errands in MoCo and Arlington occasionally, but I don't recall ever seeing ChicFilAs around.

I ate at one for the first time in years months ago on a road trip-- I guess in Virginia. Not actually bad, but nothing to write home about. Standard fast food. There's a place for this, and I'm not above the occasional grease-and-salt reward, but I didn't feel the meal was even worth the grease overload.

So I won't be patronizing the food truck, if it's handy, for reasons entirely separate from politics. It's simply not one of the better cheap meal options around!

I think the chicken is 100% better than places like McD and Burger King.

I love it. Their banana pudding shake (when in) is awesome. Plus the CFA sauce can't be beat! I live in the city but when out in VA we hit it. I know where they all are!

Yes. I live in the suburbs, we have lots of them out here. Plus, we go on a lot of road trips so we pass them frequently.

I LOVE their milk shakes. They have the best lemonade of any fast food place, and most sit down restaurants. I typically get their grilled chicken sandwich, which is not greasy. In general I feel I am able to make healthier choices at Chick Fil A than other fast food places.

Wouldn't know. Never been to one. I have actually only seen one ever. Must be based in the South.

I've never ate there only because I've never lived near one (MD).

What I want to know is, how did they come up with such a ridiculous name as Chick-Fil-A? Do they think their customers aren't smart enough to pronounce "filet"? Or is that too French?

There are over 100 in VA and MD alone.

OP here. That may be, but I didn't think most of us ate in those places, either. There are so many "fast casual" restaurants around that I thought old-fashioned burgers/chicken/fries fast food had really taken a hit.

Not necessarily smugly superior, because I'll admit that if you put most brands of salty french fries in front of me and walked away those fries would be gone in 2 minutes.

As far as fast food goes, I love it. Agree that their chicken sandwiches are head and shoulders above options like McD's or Wendy's. Also love the lemonade.

Love it. We live near one with a playroom which is very well maintained. I love that the kids meals usually come with a book, even though there's counter service staff usually come around to offer you drink refills, and overall, I think they provide the best customer service of any fast food or family chain restaurant in the area.

OP again-- with the exception of those "gourmet burger" kinds of fast casuals, of course. But part of what they're selling is the novelty of the Americana kitsch factor, because otherwise... we just don't eat that stuff anymore.

No, I didn't grow up eating Chick Fil A so I don't get the hype. I've eaten there a few times and normally get the Spicy chicken sandwich, which I think is ok. Saying that though, we don't do fast food that often so I am not really partial to any of it.

What does that even mean?

The food seems fresher than McD's/BK, less greasy, but its all still fried and fattening. The milkshakes are pretty good, def a step up from the other fast food places.

But chicken biscuits for breakfast is just gross.

Its above average I guess.

I won't go there now....
