ICE was an f-ing nightmare. It is a total mob scene and all the kids (and parents) look alike in those ugly blue parkas. Perhaps you might bring a brightly colored scarf or something to tie around your DCs' necks so they too, do not disappear into the crowd. I think I lost my DS (5 yo at the time) about 4 times. Got so cold at the end that I couldn't even talk or feel my face. All the while I was trying to shout for DS not to stray too far so I wouldn't lose him again. But I couldn't even speak!
That being said, my DS had a blast and wants to go back! I keep trying to distract him with other activities. But we may actually go back |
does anyone have a coupon code for this years ICE at the Gaylord??? |
23:05 - THIS. Hope your car is there when you exit. Lipstick on a pig, folks.
I would rather spring for Disney. That says A LOT about the circus and hype that is for absolutely nothing. |
Thanks for the 114ICE code it worked (12/6). Saved $3 per ticket. Note web site charges $4 internet processing fee. Do not know if calling will save you that fee or not. |
Try COKE11 it was on a flier I got at a Subway. |
Is anyone else as grossed out by the jacket as me. I think it would be fun to go and then I think about the jackets and I can't do it.... |
A bunch of bloggers had reviews today
http://jodifur.com/2011/12/ice.html http://www.stimeyland.com/2011/12/ice-is-nice.html |
It was horrible. Long lines, terrible crowds, gross jackets and insanely COLD in there |
FYI for anyone interested. ICE is on Living Social today. |
it really wasn't that cold. the parkas are incredibly warm and they were not smelly. I didn't find it too exciting, just looking at ice sculptures, but I don't find museums exciting either. Plus my kid was too scared to go down the ice slide by herself (one donk put their 1 year old down the slide and he was so small he was spinning around in circles as he went down and smashing his head into the ice. doh!).
So I would probably pass. The hotel though is very nice, and the crowd was very family and nice. |
We went last year closer to the final days and it was not crowded at all. Good deal today on Living Social:

Living Social is already sold out for today for the adult tickets. And it's not letting me buy more than one child ticket. I can't find anything that says there's a limit on how many tickets. I think someone is trying to tell me not to buy them. We went last year (or maybe it was the year before). Was fun, but not sure it's worth the money (at least full price). |
We found the same thing. I don't think we will be going - we have to cart around a 1yr old and really not sure it's worth the $$ |
when i try the codes, it says they're accepted but hte ticket prices don;t change. what am i missing? |
FYI - Rockville Town Square hosted a Winter Festival last year (Feb I believe). They had Disney ice sculptures all around the square including a few that you could watch as they were being sculpted. It was neat and it was FREE. They also had music, other rides for the kids and give aways. We won tickets to Disney on Ice for the following weekend. When you are read to warm up you can pop into one of the restaurants or go to Color Me Mine make a ceramic.
It sounds similar to ICE, just at a better price. |
