There is
ZERO chance that Trump gets jail time for this election interference case on trial right now. |
Oh please. If Trump actually gets convicted, he's going to serve his time in Club Fed or in home incarceration.
It would be fitting if he served his time trapped in his spacious Trump Tower apartment. Not allowed to leave those walls for years. |
Which New York state prison is known as Club Fed? |
Tell the Secret Service, they’re not so sure. https://abcnews.go.com/US/secret-services-prepares-potential-trump-contempt-order-hush/story?id=109542824&cid=social_twitter_abcn |
I guess Melania uses that as an excuse to stay in Trump Tower again and not move to the White House and we pay $100 million in secret service costs to protect her in NYC. (Plus whatever it would cost to protect DJT in prison.) |
The Secret Service has to prepare for all contingencies, it's their job! Also, the law does allow for possible jail time for these charges. Theoretically, Trump could go to jail. But IN PRACTICE, any lawyer will tell you that jail time for a first offender, and, not to put too fine a point on it, for a former President, one who is running again and will continue to claim political persecution... ...there will be no jail time. That is a foregone conclusion. Also, he's guilty, BTW. Commentators on both sides of the aisle have issued doubts as to bringing the charges because some think it's a stretch to elevate this to a felony instead of a misdemeanor, when precedence has usually used the felony for people accused of multiple crimes, not just the one Trump is accused of. BUT looking at the facts, he IS guilty. He will get a slap on the wrist, prosecutors will chalk up a win, and he won't get martyr jail status to further outrage his supporters. That would be the ideal outcome. |
He installs competent federal prosecutors in all 50 states including New York. So at least those catch and release felons terrorizing New York will get locked up if they violate federal statutes. |
Sorry, Club Fed is the federal prison. The cushiest New York state prison is the minimum security prison in Otisville, NY where Michael Cohen served his term and several notable Wall Street convicts have served their terms. |
A first time offender who has spent the entire pretrial and trial attacking the judge, showing no remorse or contrition, lying constantly about the charges…. That behavior isn’t going to cut in his favor at sentencing. |
Agreed. And frankly he should be parked in jail for violating the gag order. Otherwise he is essentially above the law. |
