However, when USSS is in local jurisdictions, they coordinate their work with the local authorities. They would not be able to remove their charge from prison, but they would be the controlling law enforcement team with regards to the ex-president. And while they hold seniority and control, they cannot violate state laws. If they needed to supercede state laws, they would do so in coordination with the state authorities. In this case, they have no justification for removing a convicted felon from incarceration. |
Trump is using all the RNC money for his legal expenses. Down ballot candidates are out of luck. Dems have lots of money for down ballot candidates so House. Senate, and WH will all be Dems. Trump will languish in a NY jail or prison until he is transferred to other to a federal prison or he dies and goes directly down below to a level of Hell Dante didn't know about. |
I don't want him to die. I want him to rot in prison. |
The POTUS race will be decided in the weeks right before the election. Right now, the polls are meaningless. |
Can someone who actually knows what they are talking about, knows the law, chime in here, please. This sounds to me like utter nonsense. |
Federal law supersedes state law |
What federal law says that if you're elected President, you're free to leave state prison? It doesn't matter any way. He's not going to be sentenced to jail. Fortunately, his health will give out soon. |
What if we compromise here and he keels over and dies on a prison toilet? |
These two candidates have 6 months to get their acts together before it really matters. They'll be at their best in October! This is exciting stuff. |
The likelihood of Trump spending some time at Rikers is 99.99% because he is going to explode on his TS about the jury. He will also be sentenced to significant incarceration in this trial. |
I would have been just fine with a Mitt Romney. Sometimes I play the "if Mitt Romney had been elected" would America be so divided now? Obama wasn't a horrible president, but he was divisive with comments about clinging to god and bibles. I wonder if we could have dodged all this. Oh well. |
How the GOP went from nominating respectable and qualified candidates like Romney and McCain to nominating Trump two soon to be three times defies logic. The fact that Trump is the only one of the three to actually win a general election is an example of how dysfunctional our current political landscape is. Obama was the best person for the job when he beat Romney in 2012. We could have and should have elected more appropriately fit for the job candidates in 2016 and 2020. 2024 is going to continue that trend. |
Hopefully the flames of purgatory are already licking his bone spurs. |
If Trump indeed goes to jail, he will likely go out of the country to be held in a foreign prison. |
