What happens if Trump Wins the Presidential Election in NY State Jail?

Anonymous
Hypothetically, if Trump gets convicted of fraud and sentenced to jail, how will this work if he wins the presidential election? Does he get a commuted prison sentence until the election is over or does he set up the Oval Office in his prison cell? This would be an unprecedented scenario, but I believe he can still legally be on the ballot and possibly win the election even if he is found guilty in this NY trial. Does anyone know what would happen in this scenario?

He can't make the Inaugural, which would seem problematic.

Not going to happen.

He isn't going to jail. That criminal offense is usually a fine.

If he does then it's Project 2025 he becomes King he will be released from jail by his cronies Gen Charles Flynn & Mike Flynn.

Ginni Thomas, Clarence, Stephen Miller, Bannon, Stone and many more will take over the government etc...

Trump has no worries if he wins and it is very likely the race will go to the House and Trump unfortunately wins and the US dies.

He’s not going to win. It’s extremely unlikely far more unlikely than in 2020

Trump is leading in majority of swing states. That’s all that really matters.

Republicans who want to keep the Electoral College because they “don’t want a handful of states deciding the election” are apparently OK with a handful of states deciding the election.

Secret Service would not allow him to remain in prison. They would move him to another private secure facility while the Supreme Court sorts out this mess.

+1 And he’s not going to be jailed until all his appeals are done.

Careful. That's what I thought in 2016. Minus the comparison to 2020, of course ... but the first part could have come straight outta my mouth back in '16.

Our presidential election process and electoral system are fitting to our 50 state union. The toxicity and dysfunction of our two major political parties have led us to believe our process is flawed. The process will render positive results when we once again have presidential caliber candidates vying for the job. Garbage in, garbage out.

It's obvious he's never going to be put into jail, unfortunately.

He would resign. The vice president becomes president and pardons him. The vice President resigns. Trump becomes president and coaxes the vice president out of retirement to remain vice president.

^^ before the vice President resigns he names Trump vice president .
