All depends where you live but I would find the best fit for my daughter in terms of logistics and have her tryout there. Nothing to lose. And I agree with PPs re “me ball” - coaches of quality teams are put off by this. Shows lack of lax IQ and poor coaching. |
Yes it would. That requires a philosophical change by the team that has to be implemented by the coaches. |
Assuming any of them could make Capital or MD teams… |
NL has some truly talented players at ‘29 who just need better coaching. I’d say 3-4 are Cap Blue quality. But should leave NL asap to get better lax IQ. |
What does that say about BLC? Almost exactly the same thing happened this weekend. |
Do tell! |
Lost to Integrity 12-7 but beat them 7-6 in the fall. Similar situation but not quite as big of a swing as winning by 5 then losing by 5. BLC also ends after 8th grade, that is known and the girls are all going to need new clubs. NL has a HS program and with the amount of focus on this team, they should want to develop and keep the team together. But that won't happen with the track they are on. |
Lousy coaching (even after bad last coach left) and more “me” ball? |
Wasn’t aware they had coaching problems |
What teams have good coaching at this level in the area (exclusive of top md clubs like m n d and coopermine skywalkers and hero’s.
Does pride? NL has kept the 29 cohort with the same coaches for years, and it’s clearly not working. Do others think that shaking up the coaches every couple years in elementary and middle school makes sense so bad habits don’t become ingrained and favorites develop? |
BLC's move over past few years to paid head coaches has been beneficial, resulting in some of the best-coached teams around. |
I think you just leave the program. NL is great for young kids but the coaching does not keep up with other local programs past the 5th grade or so. |
Looks like some of the Stars and NL players will be teaming up for American Select. Possibly an early opportunity to see how well they could play together. Anyone know the 29 Stars coaches? |
The idea that stars is a feeder for Cap Blue/Orange is bogus. All the area teams are feeders and the team is a mix of players from different clubs. Composition is different depending on the year and quality of girls from each club. |
Watching them play suggests otherwise… |
