Girls 2029 club options MOCO

Anonymous
DD currently plays on a B team (new to club). She’s not quite there to easily make an A team at this point but is considering what to do this summer for tryouts. Most of the girls on her team don’t care that much or can barely catch and and throw.
The coaching had been awful to non existent.
What are the options in MOCO? I’m specifically leaving out what team she’s currently on.

BLC, Next Level or MC Elite. NL is probably the best of the 3 at 2029.

Best chance to make a team is definitely MC. They are not as strong as NL and BLC, which both are competitive with best teams in the country at that age.

Unless you make Midnight, and their 29s are decent, I would not go to MC. Carolina teams get no attention and we had non existent coaching and left for another club. My understanding is even with the sale to STJ, nothing has really changed.

MC is a dying program. It may be easy for a player to make the team, but there is kind of a reason for that.

MCE is all but dead at this point once these girls hit HS age the best flee for better clubs. With real coaches. And forget it if you’re Carolina player they get next to nothing. Through the years they have really struggled with coaches and Niners for the Carolina teams. Each week my DD who later midnight hit was being asked/told she needed to fill in and play for them. Horribly run club. Now As much as I am not a fan Rebels they actually seem to be getting it together. Haight has taken a more active toll and it is showing BLC is on the use but until they step into the HS ages your DD would be looking for a new club team next year.

BLC B teams also get no attention.

DD switched to Rebels from another MoCo club and so far we have had a positive experience. Our coaches are always there, which has been the biggest difference.

As much as it stings to say this, rebels is a better run club than most of the moco clubs.

I agree with this sentiment, BUT a quick check of the 2029 Rebels roster shows 28 girls on the roster. Which is typical MH. They don't cut anyone.

It's a mixed age group team. Our understanding is the goal is to split into two teams by summer. They've been upfront about the large team since the beginning for us.

I would try out for NL, BLC, Pride and Stars - if you don't make A at any of those go to Rebels. I would not allow MC Elite to be an option.

Pride and Stars are not in MoCo but should be considered.

And to add, if you can hack it, Hero's (and HoCo too) is always a very good option (for those that can manage the commute). MoCo to HoCo isn't nearly as bad as MoCo to Nova.

I'd steer clear of HoCo unless you are interested in FH as well. They just lost both of their 2028 teams and it seems their top players leave for other top programs by HS. Their 2024 'A' team went from beating M&D Black to not even existing their final year.

I think PP simply meant Howard County for Heros not the actual team HoCo.
