I truly didn’t know or think it would be as serious as cancer because Pippa was on vacation and her family /husband wasn’t visiting her at London Clinic

They didn’t find the cancer until a few days after the surgery, right? Maybe her trip was in the interim.

I don’t know the timing of things, but I wonder if they say they found out is the day William backed out of that memorial service.

Yes, that was the day, according to the BBC.

That was a month later, though. Biopsies don’t take that long.

+1. Maybe she was starting treatment instead.

If that's the same day, the NHS is worse than I thought, and I'm rooting for national health insurance here in the US. It shouldn't take more than 3-4 days after surgery to get a biopsy.

Sadly I agree.

Can you posters not grasp that this kind of speculation is just as gross as the previous 500 pages of speculation about her marriage and health??

I know people who have survived decades after the early detection of various abdominal cancers.

Ruth Ginsburg survived 21 years after her first colon cancer diagnosis in 1999.

PLEASE stop posting predictions about Kate’s impending demise.

The cancer comment was shortly after the official statement released about Kate’s surgery. Within a day or two.

Second- the only reason that KP released the photo was the ridiculous speculation aboyt comas and affairs and DV being floated. Kate wasn’t beaten, in a coma or threatening William with a divorce. She most likely felt pukey and didn’t want the pic released as is. This isn’t rocket science.

They had weeks to retract that “not cancer” statement and didn’t. Even Charles and Camilla publicly said they should be more forthcoming.

So? They can release new info if/when they are ready. They don’t owe anyone detailed medical information. They also may have been waiting on further info for diagnosis/treatment.

If you allow disinformation to stand, you don’t get to whine when people point out that your statement doesn’t match your behaviors and start speculating about what is really going on. The PR disaster and social media firestorm is their own doing.

PR disaster? Don't be ridiculous. A bunch of whiny people that don't have anything going on in their lives is not a disaster. Some version of what they just announced was obviously the most likely explanation of what was going on, and they're not obligated to tell you anything.

Kate was forced to make a video she should never, ever been forced to make. That is the definition of a PR disaster.

Why do you think this? I think they released now, so the kids didn’t have to go to school for 2 weeks and their classmates wouldn’t pester them with questions. Makes perfect sense. She announced to the world when they had processed the info, told the kids and during a time it would have the least amount of impact on their children. It is what parents do. It wasn’t in response to the PR/photo issues.

If they had handled this well from the beginning, she wouldn’t have had to make a video at all. Nobody undergoing chemo wants to make a video that is released to the public, particularly not someone like poor Kate who knows it will be picked apart by ghouls. KP should have released a short and neutral statement originally, should not have lied via the fake photo that now has them treated like North Korea, and should have issued a further statement later clarifying the fact of cancer once it was confirmed.

This was an unmitigated PR disaster. Kate should never, ever have been put into this position. It’s absolutely terrible that the video was made.

Kate is of course handling it gracefully because she is a class act. But that doesn’t mean that the way KP handled this wasn’t an absolute disaster.

Yes, there was a cover up - what do you think the fake picture of her with her kids was? That's what put this madness into overdrive.

The picture was real and edited, as are all pics in People, Gala...

NP. The mainstream media doesn’t put kill orders on real picture
s. The BRF is now being handled as if they were North Korea because of how untrustworthy their media comms are. That is shocking and nothing like normal celebrity editing.

I did not speculate on Kate’s health, FWIW, but it is unquestionable at this point that the BRF have engaged in deep falsification and lying.

Nor would they pull it over some simple photoshopping. Further, KP didn't provide an unedited photo which could have been published and quickly quite the whole frenzy. It was a fake. It was a bad move on their part. You can have all the empathy in the world for what they are dealing with right now and still admit that.

I just posted about my own endometrial cancer and I agree with this. Charles' team handled things much better. All Kate's team had to do was mention the "C" word and all speculation would have stopped. Instead Kate's team published some suspect pictures that generated lots of suspicion and made things much, much worse.

I actually think they should have remained quiet after theintial statement And then do what they did today. Going back and forth with the social media detectives just made it worse for them, and today's statement pretty much ended all nonsense speculation.

I don't think it was nearly as bad as you and others are making it out to be. It makes sense to me how it all happened. It was an unprecedented situation and I get the sense W&K wanted to handle it themselves as much as they could. I don't see them as puppets of the staff that this post above would imply. I give them all a pass on this, but then I also don't feel entitled to the personal information others seem to.

They don’t need to disclose a new diagnosis right away. My mom has stage 4 pancreatic cancer and didn’t even tell me for about 4 weeks. She was seeing doctors, getting opinions and it took awhile to wrap her head around it. Blow hards on twitter can wait.

But KP didn't announce anything the day of the memorial service. And presumably (I hope the NHS isn't that bad) they had the biopsy 3 weeks before that. So none of this explains William's absence.

Possibly she started chemo that day. His absence would have been totally understandable in that situation.

I disagree. She isn’t going to make appearances starting immediately after Easter. They would have to explain that. The time to do that is right NOW when the kids go for break so all the classmates have a fun break and forget about it.

Pure speculation on my part, but I believe something occurred between the initial surgery and the biopsy. However for me personally, that part of the timeline doesn't really matter to me. I think it was perfectly okay for them to delay making a public announcement.

The only person treating them like North Korea is that crazy French guy and you.

Sure, the last few months have been a little rough for KP in the media - but they don't really care. The last few months have been more than a little rough for them personally. As they make their way through that, the public will do what the public will do.

How have you missed that the whole world is treating them like North Korea? The whole world is analyzing every grainy photo, asking whether KP set it up and whether it's Kate or a body double. Even the Daily Mail found an old photo of QE2 with her family and took apart the obvious signs of photoshop.

Biopsies should be back within 5-10 days. But if they come back positive for cancer, sometimes additional testing is done to determine tumor markers - that can be another 5 days or so. Plus in order for her to get her cancer properly staged, they may have needed a bunch of scans which can take at least a few days.

Maybe make that casserole for someone in your neighborhood, your church.temple or kid's school? There's definitely someone in your circle who needs it. Do some tangible good with Kate as your inspiration.
