I worked at Target a long time ago and believe it or not they consider this return fraud.

Trying to get a refund for something you didn’t buy there? Yeah, you can get arrested for that. It isn’t drama. It just is.

All this time you have spent arguing with people pointing out that you are a bad person for wanting to do this could have been spent arranging the exchange with Amazon.

I've already returned the diapers via Amazon ups drop off and purchased new diapers at target.

While the answer was essentially 'maybe they will maybe they won't' and that was enough for me to just not even try, that doesn't mean I agree with the really overly dramatic pps here.

Like I would love to see a real case of someone going to jail(!) for trying too swap up one size of a brand of diapers that target carries in bulk all year round.

They can consider it whatever they want; that doesn't make it fraud.

I’d like to see someone just donate the diapers.

I probably should have done this

This is what I would have done; especially for just the one box.

Some grocery stores have donation boxes that go to area shelters if you are looking for somewhere close to home to donate.

Um, how is it not fraud?

I love how everyone on this board seemingly makes hundreds of thousands of dollars in HHI, but are too cheap to throw out chicken they left on the counter all night, or to donate some diapers that they ordered in error.

I can't believe people here think of doing this. It IS fraud. And someone here claimed it is a victimless crime. That must be a joke! Imagine if every Amazon customer exchanged their items at Target rather than via Amazon. Target would be handling a major part of the business for Amazon, and incurring major cost (you think the time of the employee to scan the item, return it to the shelves etc. is not worth anything?? ). And yes, their inventory would be messed up. Doing this on purpose is fraudulent.
