You realize that it's Trump that looks the fool most days, and not just to people in this country, but all over the world. He's the laughingstock of the political world. Probably on par with Kim Jung Un.

If it is, please provide a link.

I have not seen it though. I guess you're trying to bury more sh*t from the White House. Trump is such a child. He wanted a big military parade, like that North Korean leader!

I for one would love to see the troops honored with a massive military parade. I bet the dcum crowd would piss their Depends tho.

I have no problem with honoring the troops.

But this wasn't about honoring the troops. It was about Trump's ego.

You seem confused.
We already have lots of parades involving our troops going on for the 4th of July, for Veterans Day, for Memorial Day, et cetera.
This wasn't for that. It was for Trump's inauguration.

Both the US and West German militaries did this. When I was younger and moved to Ft Carson they did as well. They also had open base days and allowed the civilian population to come on base and climb in the tanks and stuff.

As a proud veteran and proud American I see nothing wrong with it. Then again I don't hate the President or the country.

I agree. I'm not a veteran but grew up knowing many WW2 vets-family, friends of parents, my friend's parents, teachers, etc. We should be proud of our country's military history. Sadly I also knew many who out of obligation or draft also served in Vietnam. Some friends children have dies in the ME and others have been more fortunate and their children have emerged intact.

Too much focus here on illegals. It is our country-not another state of Mexico.[/quote]

How is this relevant? What is your point? It's hard to tell what this even means. No one is talking about Mexico or immigration, why bring this up?

I don't mind a formation or a welcome home or a ticker tape parade, but this sort of show/review seems odd to me. Trump may mean it respectfully but it does come across as vain glorious and about him, not the warriors. - spouse who is neither for or against but rather bemused by Trump

How does your spouse feel? It was your spouse who swore an oath to the United States; you are simply a dependent

I'm going to ignore the hurt your words caused me, given the amount that my children and I have invested in supporting my spouse in following his dream, to serve our nation militarily. However, I agree with you. I am clearly speaking about my feelings and am curious what my spouse thinks. He is away from home (shocking) but I'll let you know what I hear back. I'm always curious if he has a different perspective and it would be interesting to know. If he changes my mind, I'm open to it. BTW I would love for there to be a veterans parade in DC for the last ten years of war. However, my read is that this parade is a show of military might, not that recognition. My father always said the best brands don't advertise, and I think of our military in that way. The people who need to see our hardware and finesse , the enemy, will see it for a moment. Again, I am not against educating the public about the military, welcome home parades and specific tours and shows of tech-but a massive show of hardware and troops down mass Ave. Seems sort of odd to me. Do you think the American people require this review, and if so why? Also, how would it bolster the military mission? I am receptive if you have a view that differs from mine.

Your father is a man of wisdom. "The best brands don't advertise." Love it. And clearly he imparted his gift for wisdom and reflection on you.

Thank you for your sacrifices so that your husband can serve our nation. A true patriot.
