Were your (singleton) HcG levels higher than average? Are you having a girl?

If you've had fertility treatments or have a history of chemical pregnancies, or have another medical reason to do it such as a prior ectopic or molar pregnancy, you get the numbers checked.

I had severe hyperemsis with by first DC. I was in the ER for it around week 6. My hcG levels were very high and the ER doctors thought maybe I was having twins. We were pretty freaked out. Turns out it was a singleton and a boy.

I've had three girls. Numbers were on the low end with the last one. They were mid-range with the second.

Oh, how I miss the low-risk, no testing days with my first. Sweating the numbers is no picnic.

I had a boy many years ago, my HcG was low.....never could get a positive home pregnancy test. Levels were low but I don't remember the exact figures. Still trying to conceive baby #2. Hoping to have a girl this time.

I had lower levels and am having a girl.

I had high HCG numbers and I am having a boy, but I also had a vanishing twin miscarriage at 7 weeks, so the high numbers were probably from having twins. No m/s before or after the miscarriage.

Very high levels, had a girl.

I didn't have my numbers checked w/ my 1st one... Not much morning sickness. I had a boy! With this 2nd pregnancy, I had some blood work done (due to spotting)- 6.5 weeks pregnant & my hcg levels were 54000!!! They said that's very high & I went in for an ultrasound right away & its 1 healthy baby!! So I'm wondering if this one is a girl. I had god awful morning (all day/night) sickness. So we will see eventually.....

My first beta at 12 dp 5dt (17 dpo) was just over 1000. I had a girl. However, I barely had any pregnancy symptoms - maybe a week of nausea and some food aversions early on. For this reason, I was convinced I was having a boy until the scan showed otherwise.
