Were your (singleton) HcG levels higher than average? Are you having a girl?

Yes, high with DD. DS was lower but still on the high side. Bad nausea with both.

This is an extremely old post, but my hcg levels were very low for my first pregnancy and it was a girl.

For this one, no one told me my hcg numbers but my morning sickness has been much worse.

This is exactly what happened to me.

I was just going to write the same thing. I had a positive home test and then decided to have a blood test at the OB. The nurse called and said it was positive and asked me to make an appt. for 10 weeks. That's it. I didn't have any morning sickness and ended up with a boy. My OB did bring up the girl-morning sickness correlation when I was a bit concerned that I didn't have any morning sickness. My mom didn't have any either with either sex baby and my OB said morning sickness can be genetically related. I had daily killer headaches though.

Those who've had fertility treatments or have a history of miscarriage generally have their hcg levels monitored from early pregnancy.

+1000.
Why???

FWIW, I had very high betas. Nearly 2700 at 14dp5dt (first was IVF pregnancy) and 2900 in my second (naturally conceived pregnancy, at 18dpo. Both girls.
