Is this the "functioning" House of Representatives?

Since we are extremely in debt (over $33 trillion), I think it is good for our lawmakers look for places to cut in order to fund more important priorities.
This seems like a no brainer to me.

The IRS is revenue positive. It brings in more money than it spends. This has nothing to do with lowering spending or debt. It's the GOP once again serving the interests of the wealthy before the interests of the country.

It's in everyone's interest for rich people to pay their taxes. The IRS helps make sure that happens (barely).

by taking $ from taxpayers

Would you rather build your own road or do your own meat inspection?

Yes. The function of the irs is to collect tax revenues on behalf of the United States government.

If you prefer not to have infrastructure or participate in the U.S. food and pharma supply chains or use public transportation, etc., you can go off the grid and live in a remote spot. But even if you never leave your bunker and grow your own food and heal yourself with herbs, you’ll still be riding the coattails of the rest of us paying for your national security.

They only know how to tear things down. Zero interest in anything else, like governing.

Maybe, but he's not wrong. Speaker Johnson needs to go (should have gone last year). Will a new Speaker be better? They literally could not be worse. Whoever they might be.

It doesn’t matter which Republican is Speaker. The dysfunction is the Republican conference as a whole. They are incapable of governing because most of their Members are delusional idiots. The House is competent only when Democrats have the majority.

They want the sh!tshow, because otherwise, they would have to legislate.

Gallagher leaves Friday. Bet's on when the next resignation hits? I'll wager Friday afternoon.

Round and round we go

Maybe Cawthorn’s orgies are true and they can’t remember what they do?

Sigh.

The dysfunction is entirely the Republicans’ fault. They spend so much time farting around that actual problems get short shrift, and that’s partially ineptitude and partially by design, that whole “bleed the beast/drown it in a bathtub” mindset.
