Is this the "functioning" House of Representatives?

Since we are extremely in debt (over $33 trillion), I think it is good for our lawmakers look for places to cut in order to fund more important priorities.
This seems like a no brainer to me.

The IRS is currently already short handed and a cut would make them dysfunctional and would INCREASE the deficit rather than save any money.

Anyone who claims cutting the IRS will "free up money for more important priorities" is either lying or clueless.

Duh how dumb are you! All those uncollected taxes because the IRS is under funded and so not functioning efficiently.

No brain is right.

The IRS is building a way for regular Americans to save money every year and Republicans can’t have that.

The IRS turns a "profit" - so if you are cutting there, you are reducing the amount of income for the country. It is a really bad place to cut if you are actually concerned about fiscal issues.

+1 The now better-funded IRS has collected over $160 million in back taxes from cracking down on millionaires.

Yeah doing a bad job of tax collection will sure help with the debt 🙄

When a business is losing money, it’s a bad idea to fire all the folks who send invoices and cash checks.

I’m starting to think the republicans don’t really care about fiscal issues….

They just resumed their political hostage taking. In this case: defund IRS or Israel doesn't get aid.

I don't understand why the GOP doesn't want IRS to be able to collect back and/or unpaid taxes. Do all Republicans not pay their fair share of taxes?

A question for Clarence and Ginnie, no?

I think Mikey should have been on his knees praying before making this decision! Or, did the Bible tell him to start out with a shellacking on his first try?

But but but Republicans care SO MUCH about Israel, surely they wouldn't use them as political leverage against those Palestine-loving Dems. Right?

I'm always amazed at the hysterics Democrats engage in - for no reason.

Lol nobody is hysterical. Stop calling people hysterical just because they have different policy positions that’s you, it makes you look silly and uninformed.

Oh, ok. Then you stop calling people "silly and uninformed" just because they have different policy positions than you. It makes you look like a complete hypocrite, and also not very bright.

Ok, I am a different poster. Please explain to me like I am 5 years old, how it makes sense to cut funding for an agency that turns a profit at a time the country NEEDS that money.

Why is it so important to Republicans to defund the tax police?

“Law and Order” means they want to skate on their cheating just like dirty cops let them skate on their crimes. The IRS generally doesn’t play like that.
