I’m going to be sooooo pissed if some raw-milk drinking MAGA is patient zero when this f-ing virus jumps to humans.

What if it's a crunchy-granola raw-milk drinker?

A big part of the problem is that USDA has almost no authority to regulate these farms. They can only step in for limited instances where cows are being sold across state lines.

The Biden administration should get out in front of this ASAP. If vaccines are needed, there will be issues with vaccine hesitancy and they can do a lot right now to get safe, effective vaccines ready AND start educating the public.

No, not really.

Why are we worried about this if few if any cows have died and they spread the disease through the dairy herd milking process?

His household contacts did not display symptoms.

Well this article is a little concerning. The CDC never went to the farm that the farm worker was employed at. They also did not manage to follow-up with the farm worker’s contacts. I get that the farm worker was resistant to giving information, but they should have pressed harder.

What did you expect? Why would the farm or the farm worker cooperate? The CDC wasn't going to reimburse them for lost income.

Just get your flu shot in the fall, it will be fine.
