In addition to my original post.
The owners name is Joseph M. Greitzer
He is a attorney in Pennsylvania, PA Attorney ID# 48082.

In addition to my inquiry to The Federal Trade Commission, The Hampshire County Courts I'll make sure that the Pennsylvania Attorneys Licensing office is also aware of Mr. Greitzer activities.

Bumping- who do I bug for payment? Still owed the full 2020 tuition- the lawyer?

I cannot believe they are still operating a camp and that people are paying him.

I am a former director and unit head. I spent 12 summers there. I can tell you with certainty that the man who owns the camp is not the kind man you think he is. I have sat at lunch with him and listened to him talk about the moms of campers, gossiping about their marriage status or income. He has singe-handedly financially ruined the camp. He takes out loans and doesn't pay them, he is being investigated by the IRS for misuse of funds. He did not pay his staff fully, and didn't pay any of us at all until two months after we left work. This is not a COVID thing. He has been late on our payments for the last 3 years, and ignores us when we ask. He does not care about us. He does not care about your children. To him, your children are income and we (the staff) are free labor. He fired his assistant director, to which he owes thousands of dollars. He has 0 staff. Camp is NOT going to happen this summer- I can tell you this with certainty, but the owner will not and will take your money if you can. DO NOT pay him a cent. I can illustrate more examples- there are so many things going on at camp that I am sure parents would love to know about, but you will NEVER hear from the owner.
I care about your children. I've spent years forming sister-like relationships with them. Because I care, I'm begging- DO NOT SIGN UP!

Thank you, and thank you to the previous camp counselor who posted.

I probably trained you in CPR/First Aid or Lifeguarding. We have been training the staff there for many years. This year 2023, Joe owes our company $8,250.00, and it seems we won't receive the payment for staff training. The camp couldn't open without the Certifications and credentials obtained from the training for the staff. This is the only time we let the invoices add up on assurance we would be paid at the end. It has been over a month now. That Camp Has been open, and nothing but excuses from Joe. He always came off as shady, but we never had any problems with payment until now. I doubt We will return to provide services without pre-payment or not deliver any credentials unit paid in full.

How is it that this camp is still open? It sounds like a disaster.

I know! We are still owed our 2020 payment and have not seen a dime from the settlement. And now this other post from this year - can someone explain this to me in basic legal terms? He can still operate the camp, no matter how much he owes other people, because he has bankruptcy protection? Are we not getting our settlements because he is spending it on running the camp this year? And that is allowed somehow?

I follow Rim Rock on Facebook just to see what is going on, and I guess I like to make my own blood boil regularly! Do you think if we did start posting on social media it would get us somewhere? I just don't understand how we can all still be in this position!

+1 that we still haven’t received any payments from 2020!

Enrollment for Summer 2024 is open, what parent in their right mind would send their girl to a camp run by someone who appears to have basic cash flow problems?

Yes, PSA here to anyone who may be reading- do NOT pay in advance for next summer! We are still owed a full session’s tuition from 2020. They lied to us many, many times along the way about refunds.

How is it possible they can just be back to this without paying us? Is there a bankruptcy lawyer or lawyer who can explain this?!

Just got a notice from the Bankruptcy Court in PA. The trustee (David Smith) appears to have filed a motion to convert from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7. As I understand it, this means liquidation. Hopefully that means the camp will be shut down and Joe is forced to sell the land to pay us back.

Just got that too. Do I need to take any kind of action in order to still be considered for repayment of the money I paid in 2020 including needing to consult an attorney as advised by this letter? This situation is just infuriating.

Even more reason not to sign up for Summer of 2024. This camp should not be allowed to operate!

I see the hearing is Wednesday and we can listen in by phone. Is there anyone who can explain what it means to convert from chapter 11 to chapter 7?

I just got an email from Joe: "A check was just mailed to make you current under the bankruptcy plan. Thank you for your patience."
I didn't listen to today's hearing, but it sounds like something came out of there to force him to live up to the original agreement.

He has replied before the equivalent of "the check is in the mail" so I'll believe it when I see it.
