Will America vote for Kamala Harris in 2024? This is the real question.

Her track record is terrible.

No, the candidates aren’t the question. It’s not even a question of issues. The only question is whether or not America will remain a free country that follows the Constitution.

Both candidates are too old. Considering the strain the office imposes, I think it is reasonable to assume that age will impact the energy and focus either candidate could devote to their position (and I don’t think Trump even cares to bother). Even if they manage to survive a full term, I think we run a significant risk of having a president whose cognitive processes are affected. (We already had Reagan with Alzheimer’s).

I wish the Democrats had allowed serious primaries. I wish there was more attention focused on the VPs (we don’t even know who will be Trump’s running mate, other than it won’t be Pence). I really wish the Republicans hadn’t lost their collective minds leaving us with one viable political party and one cult.

I’m conservative and disagree with the Democrats on most issues. The ones I agree with them on, I think they handle incredibly stupidly. I’m not a particular fam of Biden, but he does have my respect. I think he honestly wants to serve the good of the country (as much as any politician) - even if I disagree with him about what’s good for the country. I may not like the direction Democrats steer the country, but I feel confident that with either Biden or Harris at the helm, I’ll have the freedom later to advocate and vote for the issues that I care about.

Trump has shown a contempt for our Constitution as he tried to subvert the last election, even inciting violence against the Capitol. He cares nothing for our country or even his own issues. While the problems of illegal immigration are one of his foremost issues, he blocked progress on it when he thought it might jeopardize his political prospects. All he cares about is his personal power, and everything else is just a means to that end.

Don’t look at this year’s election as a contest between Biden-Harris vs. Trump-?. Don’t look at this as pro- vs. anti- on any issue. See it for what it is, a referendum on whether America will remain a free country that follows the rule of law, or a dictatorship that submits itself to the whims of Donald Trump. Please choose carefully, because, if eternal vigilance is the price for liberty, if we blink this year we might lose it.

Democrats have won 3 of the past 6 Presidential elections, the 3 in which the ticket included a Black Senator/former Senator and Joe Biden. Each time many White pundits were convinced that the Black Senator was unqualified and there is no way they could win, yet the ticket won due to higher turnout among young voters and minority voters.

You cannot be serious to compare Harris to Obama? She is an absolute moron. A true case of real life imitating art (see Veep for proof). I actually wonder if she has a substance abuse problem the way she rambles (see list of some of her greatest hits above). And yes, in this case considering Joe’s physical and mental condition, I would most definitely consider who the VP is.

A vote for Biden truly is a vote for Harris. No thanks.

Biden - Harris - Obama policies…
What’s the difference?

Obama had done nothing as a Senator. He gave great speeches but that was the extent of his qualifications. Harris has better credentials than Obama had in 2008.

Thank you for this. I would hope most traditional conservatives would come to the same conclusion.

We can have the debates around tax policy and other issues in the future, but for now, lets make sure we have a democratic future.

The above credential/resume obsession reminds me this is a DC board, even if everyone claims to be from ‘The Midwest’.

Obama had cred with many for opposing the Iraq War. Harris was almost purely a pretty face for idpol. And I’m pretty sure BHO had nothing as disturbing as Harris’s seemingly campaign-contribution driven failure to prosecute Steve Mnuchin!

And they are well-established mainstream Democratic policies. Obama didn’t invent anything new and neither has Biden. They both got some things done legislatively when they had a Democratic House led by Pelosi and they appointed highly qualified, diverse, progressive officials to expertly manage agencies, programs, and policies.

There is no track record. Only Venn diagrams.

Because Obama hadn’t had any executive authority before becoming President and it showed. He caved to interest groups and deferred to the Senate old guard. He may have opposed the Iraq war when he was an Illinois state senator, but as President he escalated the war in Afghanistan. He was not a progressive reformer except in his speeches.

Personally, I suspect the answer is no.

Agree OP. She’s so unlikeable on many levels.

You only wish that was the real question, OP. Joe is totally fine.

Lieberman just died from a fall last night.

This shows exactly how close we are to President Kamala.
