Monday was Lisa Baden's last day with WTOP. I'm going to miss her!! She's corny, but is fun and efficient. Early in the morning...she gets the job done.

Yeah I like her but she's also so silly and cutsy sometimes it's sickening.

And what IS up with WTOP? Sometimes I wonder if it's a bunch of kids in the basement of the science building running that station. Que to nothing, commercials running over each other, unintended silences. And then there was for a long time one featured commentator who had a HORRIBLE voice, like permanent laryngitis or something.

Oh the old guy that needed a salt water rinse to clear his throat? It was really frustrating to listen to him. I also can't stand Chris Core (sp?). He does way too many commercials, and I imagine he has a house full of free stuff as compensation. I also did not like his spin on Walmart in historical areas (Virginia battlefields).

But back to Lisa, I think she knows her schtick is cheezy. But it makes her unique.

I give them a TON of credit when power is out. They have the info I need and they always promise to stay on the power companies until power comes back on. It is so reassuring to hear. I've become more and more of a fan this past year since we've had so many multi-day power outages in MoCo.

Sad to see Lisa Baden go. Traffic reports are boring, but she tried to make it less so. Where is she off to?

I loved Lisa Baden! I was so surprised this morning getting ready for work and hearing Rita Kessler (sp?).
At least Lisa made it fun.
Btw, why all the many ads on WTOP? There never used to be all the boring repetitive ads. UGH. Just like TV now.

Bob Marbourg is in the afternoon. He's terrific, too. Very personable.

Have you called their traffic line? Bob (and Lisa use to) answer the line. They were always so appreciative of the traffic tips.

I'll continue to listen, but it's a shame they couldn't work something out with her contract.

I think WTOP was just bought out by another corporation.
