Do you secretly judge parents by their strollers??

As in Graco = low-class

Maclaren = Highly-educated upper-middle class

Bugaboo = Rich & trend-oriented

I have a Graco Metrolite, now on its second child, but my nearby park is a sea of Maclarens. It has a huge basket, big wheels that are great for trekking, and a snack tray. Yet I feel alone.

Huh? No.

wow - no I don't and frankly don't even really pay attention. Oye

Yes. I carry my baby in an organic wrap. Why do you stroller people like to push your babies away from you? Don't you love them?

yes-bugaboo means I want everyone to know I spent $900 on a stroller.

Yep. If I see someone with a crazy stroller I think, why the heck did you spend so much on a damn stroller?

hah. We are highly educated people who have a $2 thrift store stroller. Wonder how trashy people think we are?

Yes, bugaboo owners look like they're pushing their child in an office chair with wheels. Looks ridiculous and it's way overpriced.

For the most part, no. I don't pay much attention to the brand or model of stroller. I figure most were picked out before the babies were born and before the parents knew much about it the realities of parenting.

Although, I do sometimes wonder about the decision to go for the Bugaboo. I'm too scot to spend that much (or ask someone else to do so).

But I do form opinions about the use of strollers. ;->

physically capable children in strollers past the age of 3 = strong correlation to why childhood obesity is skyrocketing.

children snacking mindlessly in the stroller, and not just for *A* snack between meals, but endless snacking to placate the kid = another reason childhood obesity is skyrocketing (I only have one kid, so it is a little easier for me to actually stop and have snack rather than eat on the go; I realize life is different for other families and circumstances)

"Away we go"?

I could care less what strollers others have. We just went with what works best for us. We like to run together, we got a Bob. Works awesome. Then just a light weight Graco IPO for the trunk of the car when we are out and about.

um, my 3 yo DD still rides in a stroller if we are out all day. If you want to deal with a whiny, snail-paced 3 yo that insists on being carried the second they get tired, go right ahead but I'd rather not, thanks.

I don't (at least not consciously). But I do have to say that the Bugaboos amaze me. Unless that stroller feeds my kids and changes their diapers I just don't get how it can be worth all that money. But then, I never had one, so maybe I just don't know what I'm missing. My kids were perfectly happy in the MetroLite. And I didn't have an aneurism every time they spilled something. And I never had to complain about how heavy it was, and how I couldn't fold it one handed.

When I see some of the bugaboo types I wonder why the heck the parent thought they needed it, but really, I don't care.

As for graco being low-class - definitely not in my book. Heck, my family thinks I am snobby for having registered for chicco because graco is the gold standard where I'm from. And the fact that I upgraded from a chicco lightweight to a maclaren (after wearing two chiccos out on my mile+ commute each way) well, don't even get them started!!
