Do you secretly judge parents by their strollers??

Ghetto.

I think people who buy those travel systems monstrosities are horribly misinformed or just stupid. what makes you think that a huge stroller or tiny wheels is going to work at all?

I don't but I know there are people out there who do. We were in Tennessee a couple weeks ago and were walking around with our DD in a BOB revolution and overheard some people (locals judging from their accents) comment on how it's ridiculous to spend $900 on a stroller. The were obviously talking about us because they looked at the stroller and said it as they walked by. They obviously don't know their strollers very well

Not saying the BOB is cheap, but it is certainly no Bugaboo!!!

Unless that stroller feeds my kids and changes their diapers I just don't get how it can be worth all that money. But then, I never had one, so maybe I just don't know what I'm missing. My kids were perfectly happy in the MetroLite. And I didn't have an aneurism every time they spilled something. And I never had to complain about how heavy it was, and how I couldn't fold it one handed.

I would never spend money on a Bugaboo either but I babysat for a family that had one when I was living in Chicago. They lived downtown in a high rise and I have to say, they are awesome for bumpy sidewalks, grass, sand, you name it!! If I lived in a city and walked everywhere and had the $$$ to spend, I would probably get one too

i judge people who have bugaboos and even maclarens as rich snobs, yep i do.

I only judge parents when their strollers look completely unsafe. But it's less judging and more pity because they probably don't know better or they can't afford a better stroller.

Bugaboo = Rich & trend-oriented

I have a Graco Metrolite, now on its second child, but my nearby park is a sea of Maclarens. It has a huge basket, big wheels that are great for trekking, and a snack tray. Yet I feel alone.

You forgot the

BOB line of strollers = only a 3 wheeled stroller is good enough for me & overpriced

I think people who spend the money on a bugaboo are foolish or just have way too much disposable income. Get yourself a Graco and give the other $850 to a needy kid or something.....

I may or may not secretly raise an eyebrown when I see someone with a $300-400+ stroller.

definitely. i could never be friends with someone who used a bugaboo.

we used a graco snap-n-go, then maclaren. but i got that maclaren off ebay for $100! it was new with tags, but a previous year's model. that was cheap! and it held up really well.

Judge me! What does the City Mini say about me??

I can see having an SUV/ATV stroller or jogger for outside, but people who try to shove them into stores or restaurants are rude.

Only if they also drive Volvos.

I had to laugh on the inside when an acquaintance told me she was getting a $600 stroller but wouldn't spring $1000 for a doula (and was gung ho into a certain method of natural childbirth). I guess it's all about priorities. Personally, I'd rather have a successful childbirth the way I wanted it to go with whatever resources it took to help make it happen (not making a comment here about natural vs. mediated vs. anything in between) rather than a silly stroller that may not even be the right fit for my child and lifestyle. If I had to go back, I'd keep the $150 stroller I bought and spend any extra money I had on a doula - just to have kept my DH sane and calm during my labor & delivery. Would have been worth it weight in gold...
