McDonald’s Worker, 15, Recovering from Fractured Skull After Allegedly Being Beaten by Male Customer

Poor girl. It's hard enough to work a minimum wage job and to go to high school at the same time, and to have it result in something like this that is going to impact her quality of life for years. I hope McDonald's pays her medical bills.

15-year-old Missouri McDonald's employee is recovering from surgery after an adult male attacked her while she was working.

Aryiah Lynch told local station First Alert 4 that she was working at a St. Louis County McDonald's on April 8 along with another teenage cashier when a group of adults — including 25-year-old Johnny Ricks – came into the restaurant and began allegedly destroying property, spitting on the employees and instigating a brawl.

According to police reports obtained by NBC affiliate KSDK, Ricks was attempting to order at the counter when he got upset and allegedly threw a plastic tray at an electronic menu board, destroying it. Employees then asked him to leave and attempted to escort Ricks outside when the fight broke out.

A video of the incident that circulated on social media and was obtained by local station KMOV shows Ricks allegedly pulling Lynch by her hair outside the restaurant and stomping on her head. Ricks allegedly struck Lynch again in the head as she tried to stand up.

The title of the post didn't give you a clue that it's an awful news story?

Beaten is different than having your head stomped on.

Sounds like a mental health issue.

Or drugs. Or both. The girl has a gofundme. Hope McDonald's helps her too.

This is likely workers’ comp so McDonald’s will pay lost wages and medical bills. There may be other benefits as well. She has a long road.

For a part-time worker who probably works 15 hours a week because she's so young? I doubt she's eligible for much.

Employees don’t owe it to McDonalds to try to get a group like that under control. They should have discreetly called 911 and placated the group with their food. I hope every parent who hears about this story warns their working teenagers not to engage in confrontation with violent customers.

My teen and her friend were waiting to pay at chipotle a couple of weeks ago when a man came in yelling about his order. The employee handed my daughter the bag with their food in it and told them to just take it and go without paying while the manager was dealing with the angry guy.

And the police shouldn't respond because no one should be killed over food.

He threw a tray at the ordering screen and the staff tried to get him to leave. Perhaps you would see the logic of preparing his burgers and fries in the hopes that he will turn sweet and kind while he's trying to injure people, but blaming a 15 year old and their co-workers for how they managed a difficult situation is a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking on your part.

Hopefully, Mr. Ricks will be imprisoned for a long time.

In theory, yes. But your post seems a little victim blaming because you are assuming the girl “engaged in confrontation” with him. That has not been established. He is a very bad guy. His rap sheet is extensive. She could’ve done everything right and still had this outcome. It’s very very sad that people like Johnny Ricks exist.

Ridiculous, of course, police should respond. Stop with the "every police call is a death call." This fine young man almost killed the poor 15 year old girl over food, so excuse me for not giving a shit about what happened to him after the police were called.
