China is raising a population that will outshine us

Anyone else seeing videos of what kindergarten in China is like in their social media feed? This stuff keeps popping up in Instagram and quite frankly is scary…because their attention to health, motor skills, discipline and focus is light years ahead of us/US.

Yeah… I’m not convinced about that being a good thing.
Makes a cool Tik Tok though.

I feel like Tik Tok is dumbing down the American populace and I am in favor of banning it for that and data privacy reasons.

These videos aren’t on TikTok, they’re creeping into my Instagram feed.

Do you really think physical fitness, eating real food instead of processed food, and equipping kids from an early age to be focused enough to master something is a bad thing?

Yes it’s called CCP propaganda. And it should be banned.

In some of the videos you can see kids standing to the side and just watching. Those are the normal kids who don’t get to star in videos. The kids with the basketballs are a well known traveling troupe of performers, akin to Harlem Globetrotters but composed of small kids. That isn’t a random class of kindergarten students. Do you actually think this is healthy for small kids?

The Chinese don’t make viral videos of the rural kids living in poverty and being raised by their grandparents.

I’m not convinced raising a little automaton is a good thing. No.
But my kid’s kindergarten was mostly outside with a lot of free play. Their lunch was freshly made on site, with a healthy mix of fruits and vegetables.
Young children learn best through play.

Maybe if the GOP stopped gutting our public education and our universities, including the schools of education that train our future teachers, were not castigated constantly, and perhaps if teachers were offered a decent wage and treated with more respect, we would have better outcomes.

I just watched a video from a non-Chinese teacher who currently teaches over there…so, not Chinese propaganda.

The classrooms are large and clean, the kids wear uniforms, they eat real food (including veggies!), they are fit and focused.

The teach dance in kindergarten. You know why? It’s a fun and age appropriate way to equip kids to learn how to memorize. They memorize the dance routines.

I went to catholic school in the dc metro area a million years ago and we were taught how to memorize. My kids were never taught these skills by local public schools…and that’s a mistake.

There’s a reason why certain skills (including foreign language skills) are best taught when kids are young.

Virtually every other country introduces a second language early on. In the US, we wait until middle school…which is too late.

Right.

And if someone is Chinese, they can appreciate their heritage without making zero-sum competitive propaganda posts about it. The truth is mor complex but still rich and beautiful.

In China the rural kids living in poverty still get a vastly superior education and opportunities for uppward mobility than the kids living in poverty in St Louis or Appalachia.

Asia in general.

American students, on average, would probably be D- to F students in most Asian school systems in first world Asian countries. Even our brightest would probably only be middle of the pack over there.

Ah yes! What why people immigrate away from China. They can’t stand all that upward mobility in China.

It’s just a fact that Asians are smarter, right?!?

Check out school in rural Japan too:

It’s just Asian culture in general where they teach you the value of community first, to contribute to a better society, and to work for making things better around you. You can see in the video above they make kids clean the school grounds. They teach kids about nutrition, raising and cooking their own food, then to have exercise. It’s mind, body and spirit education. Contrast the above to crass American culture where there is zero emphasis on community, everyone is taught to only care about themselves, food is made as cheaply as possible so that it can be consumed in mass quantities, and there is zero respect for your environment around you. lol, can you imagine the uproar if kids were forced to go to school earlier everyday and help clean the bathrooms or maintain school grounds so that they have a sense of respect for their learning environment? All I hear about all the time are kids in MCPS, for example, who destroy bathrooms by doing things like ripping toilets and sinks off the wall because ‘it is funny’. Americans often behave like wild, feral animals.

No, it’s just that they’re harder workers. Americans are fat and lazy, which translates into more stupidity. Not necessarily due to inherent higher intelligence, it’s just that America trains people to be dumb.
