I am very interested to see the responses to this article. She says that since men are born "takers" women should demand a man that provides, aka an older man. Is this a good strategy?

The writer sounds like a very naive, smug gold digger who wants applause for doing something very ordinary and common.

No. People should marry equals as much as possible.

It will be interesting to check in in 10 years and see how she feels about her choices. Whether she'll still be so pleased with herself

I don't think age spread should be a deciding factor in marriage.

She is 27 and doesn't have kids yet, so I found it hilarious. He was born in 1987. He is younger than my teapot.

And their age difference is 10 years… I don’t consider that huge. It’s not THAT hard to connect with someone 10 years older or younger.

I found her writing style gross and smug and didn’t bother finishing the article.

As hot takes go, saying a 27 year-old woman should go for a 37 year-old man is pretty tepid. Show me a 27 year-old extolling the virtues of a 57 year-old dude. Now that would get clicks.

I think she sounds smart. I’ve always been attracted to older men. DH is 12 years older. It worked out perfectly. No “gold-digging” here. I think the dcum harpies pull that phrase out when they feel threatened.

I'm a young woman and would never date an older man. Nothing like feeling my man's hard young body against mine. Why give that up for some saggy man with slightly more money? So long as your man is hard working you'll get the nice home and the country club membership sooner or later. And dont have to put up with ED (yet)!

My dad is 12 years older than my mom. Believe me, that age difference comes into play down the road. I never even considered dating anyone older because I witnessed exactly how my dad aged my mom.

I read 75% of it and then stopped to look her up, I was pretty disappointed.

Yes - have watched this with several family members with that kind of age gap. My dad is 7 years older than my mom and he’s doing it to her too.
