Train Day Celebration

by admin last modified May 11, 2018 07:10 PM
Every year at the National Postal Museum, we celebrate the completion of the First Transcontinental Railroad in 1869. Finally, there were train tracks connecting the East and the West, allowing the Post Office to quickly move mail by trains across the entire country. Over time, trains have played an important role in keeping our nation connected.

Experience the magical, miniature world of model railroads running throughout the museum thanks to the following program partners: the Rappahannock Model Railroaders, the Washington, Virginia & Maryland Garden Railway Society, and the Northern Virginia NTRAK. 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
