The 30 girls of Scouts BSA Troop 248 for Girls invite girls age 11-17 to their regular meeting from 10 AM-Noon on Saturday, March 7. This is the program formerly known as “Boy Scouts” but in an all-girl setting and all-girl led. We meet at All Souls Episcopal Church, 2300 Cathedral Ave. NW, Washington, DC. This is located just off Connecticut Avenue between the Woodley Park Metro Station and The National Zoo. Girls will shadow one of our youth members during our meeting. We are one of the largest Troops in the metropolitan area and this last year participated in service projects, hikes, trips and camping outings including 24 camping nights on 10 different trips (girls select the trips they want to go on). Our 19 adult women and men adult advisors help us with our events and with our learning the Scouting program -- and keep us safe. You can learn all about us at www.ScoutsBsaDcGirls.org.

Each girl will shadow one of our current members during the meeting.  We are one of the largest and most active Troops in the metropolitan area and have participated in service projects, hikes, trips and camping outings including 24 camping nights on 10 different trips (girls select the trips they want to go on).  And, we will all go together to a week of summer camp this June near the Shenandoah Mountains.  Our 19 adult women and men adult advisors help us with our events and with our learning the Scouting program.  After a year, several of us are already on the way to Eagle Scout!  You can learn all about us at www.ScoutsBsaDcGirls.org.  You can also send questions to: ScoutsBsaDEcGirls+Membership@gmail.com We are grateful to DC Urban Moms and Dads because many of our members learned about us through your web site.

Scouts BSA in Troop 248 for Girls supports a girl's happiness and confidence.  We take the approach where each girl determines her interests and rate of advancement within Scouting -- and we support her choices.  Our girl-elected Senior Patrol Leader leads all aspects of our Troop with our many other girl Troop and Patrol officers.  We meet twice a month on the first and third Saturdays and have a girl-planned outing on the fourth weekend (except for December).  We are a bigger Troop because we can achieve big, exciting things together -- but each girl belongs to a smaller sub-group called a Patrol.   We operate in a very safe way, including strict adherence to youth protection requirements that will be fully-explained by our adult advisors and the church personnel who supervise their work.  Girls who visit can join our successful and fun group.  They can even participate in our campout on March 27-29 in our cool orange-brown tents and cook on our outdoor stoves !

Our Troop is diverse in every way and welcoming of every girl without exception.  We do not conduct any product fundraising activity.
