by cburkhardt last modified Jan 27, 2021 08:17 AM
Interested girls and parents should visit Scouts BSA Troop 248 for Girls during our all-day and socially distanced encampment at picnic sites 23 and 24 in Rock Creek Park. We are 40 girls strong, but will be separated into our four smaller groups called "patrols" -- so we will be COVID-safe. Bring your masks! We will be cooking, fire building, hiking, orienteering and other things we do on our monthly overnight camping trips. Arrive at 11:30 AM in time for some fresh food. Stay with us unit 1:15 PM so you can meet our girls and learn how they camp somewhere each month and take week-long camping trips together during the summer. Each girl much be accompanied by a parent, and they will meet with our Scoutmaster and Senior Patrol Leader (the elected head girl) separately in the nearby picnic shelter, where they will be treated to sandwiches and receive an orientation on Scouts BSA Troop 248 for Girls. We are ALL-GIRL and run by and for GIRLS.

You can learn much more about our Scout BSA Troop for Girls at our web site.  We are safely meeting outdoors during COVID by taking outdoor hikes and camping outdoors each month.  We meet on Saturday mornings from 10-Noon.  In the summer we take trips together as a Troop to week-long summer camp.  We do not conduct product sales -- no candy, nuts, cookie or other things -- nothing!  We have 41 youth members, nine scoutmasters and twenty adults on our Troop Committee.  We meet in the City at All Souls Episcopal Church.  We hope to see you at our Saturday encampment!  Here is a Google link to the location:  https://www.google.com/maps/place/Rock+Creek+Park+Picnic+Area+24/@38.9539961,-77.0418433,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x89b7c8440c5ba38f:0xce705098eb62d593!8m2!3d38.9539919!4d-77.0396546
