Free Post-Pregnancy Fitness and Core Stability Workshop

As a new mother, you may be eager to regain your shape and get back to your normal workout routine. Your body undergoes significant changes, both during pregnancy and after the delivery of your baby. It is important that you understand the impact of these changes and modify your exercise programs and activities accordingly, so that you can safely and efficiently regain your fitness. This workshop contains essential knowledge about post-pregnancy exercise for all new moms.

Attend this workshop and learn about:

  • Your core muscles and the importance of appropriate core stability training
  • How to self-screen for diastasis recti—a separation between the left and right side of the rectus abdominis muscles
  • Precautions with return to exercise, including exercises to avoid
  • Guidelines for returning to activity and how to develop an exercise program

The workshop also includes an optional hands-on exercise component, which will include instruction in exercises to strengthen the lumbar-pelvic area of the body. If you would like to participate in the exercise session, please come dressed appropriately.

 

Presenters: This workshop is being presented by Christine Gorby, PT, ATC and Anne Viser, PT, ATC. Christine is an experienced physical therapist and athletic trainer and is a new mother of a 3-month-old daughter. View Christine’s bio.
