Come Learn How Dual Language Programs Can Help Your Child’s
Achievement.
What: Dual Language is an educational program in which students are taught reading
and grade level content in two languages. In most Dual Language programs, students
spend ½ the day learning in English and ½ the day learning in a non-English language.
Examples of schools with dual language programs include Oyster-Adams Bilingual
School, Powell Elementary School, Tyler Elementary School, and Cleveland
Elementary School
Why: Students learn to speak, read, and write in another language. Students’
achievements are at similar levels or higher than those enrolled in monolingual
programs. Students gain a global perspective that prepares them for a global world.
Refreshments will be served. Children are welcome.
