Stewards of Children - Parent & Caregiver Session by Gerald De Leon, last updated: Oct 10, 2017 06:28 PM
Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center has scheduled a free Parent and Caregiver Stewards of Children session! Our last session for Parents and Caregivers was over a year ago and we have received a number of requests for an evening session. The 2-hour Stewards of Children training is a great way for parents to learn how to recognize, respond to, and prevent child sexual abuse, ways to make everyday interactions between children and adults safer, and what healing can look like from survivors of child abuse. The next parent session takes place Thursday, November 2nd from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the Safe Shores office (429 O Street, NW). We have a free parking lot behind our office and the nearest Metro stop is the Convention Center. To register or for more information, visit https://www.safeshores.org/get-involved/stewards-of-children/ . Also feel free contact me or the Director of Prevention and Outreach, Erin McGuinness emcguinness@safeshores.org with any questions.

“Peter Pan” presented by DuffleBag Theatre by admin, last updated: Oct 03, 2017 01:40 PM
For ages 5+. Keeping with the “Alden on the Move” theme, our first children’s performance this fall is reminiscent of a time when actors didn’t have theatres to perform in so they traveled from town to town with only what and whom could fit in their wagon. DuffleBag Theatre’s performance of “Peter Pan” will whisk you off to Neverland with only the set, props and costumes they brought in their trunk. If four actors aren’t enough to tell the story, some of McLean’s youngest residents might even get cast in the show!
